My daughter is 4 months old. She was introduced to a bottle at 2 weeks old & has been taking a bottle a few times a week (all other feedings are nursing) ever since. She always done great in taking a bottle, she didn't even care if it was formula or breastmilk.

Now I'm going back to work in less than two weeks & she's decided that she no longer wants to take a bottle! We've been easing her into her soon-to-be childcare this week and her new caretakers are having difficultly with her taking a bottle. One day she took in 3 oz over 3 hours, another day 2 oz over 2 hours, and today she refused it altogether.

Any ideas!? I don't want her to go hungry!

Breastflow bottles (by the First Years) are a working/nursing mommy's best friend :)

Maybe try a different nipple on the bottles to see if she takes another kind better. My friend had this issue and ended up having her husband drive the baby to her once every time she worked because she is a nurse and works 12 hour shifts. Her baby only drinks a little from the bottles, but those snacks are better than nothing and help him get by. I'm sure it's a rare situation like hers where the baby can be brought to his mother, but I tell you that just to say maybe just drinking a little from the bottle is okay.

My little sisters never took bottles, which made it terrible when Mom left them, but at the end of the day, she won't starve -- she just might be a little extra hungry. Keep trying, and I'll pray that she changes her mind soon!
