Lazy night time feedings

My 6 week old and I are very lazy during night time feedings. He's nursing every 2-4 hours during the night and we're both pretty sleepy. During night feedings he doesn't usually have a great latch but he gets the milk and we both go back to sleep.

Could this lazy latch at night eventually interfere with milk production?

Anyone know how to remedy this short of waking him up completely and risk having too alert to drift back to sleep?

Actually, this type of snacking is excellent for milk production.  Your body produces more milk based on how many let-downs you have, not actually on how much milk is taken in a feeding or how good the latch is.

It's still really early for you to do anything other than go with the flow at this point.  If both of you are content with the nightime feedings, I don't see a reason to change anything.  It is really great for your milk supply and neither of you are loosing much sleep :)

If you see this, leave this form field blank.
