Mom=care provider, Dad=babysitter?!

Why is it that when the men take care of their own children everyone says, "Oh, he's babysitting?" NO, he's taking care of his kids!

I have heard a TON of people say this and I think it is completely UNFAIR!! With a SAHM, it would be completely different ... I think it's just because SAHD's are very far & few. I am VERY thankful that I work part time & work from home part time. I do NOT want my Significant Other to go back to work! He worked 50+ hrs/wk with our oldest daughter & missed so much, it would tear him apart! Now he gets to be home with our 4 year old daughters & our 7 month old twin daughters & I LOVE seeing how happy he is since he doesn't have to miss a minute of them growing up!

I do wish people would stop referring to SAHD's as babysitters, they are raising them, helping them, teaching them & etc just like a SAHM ... the only difference is the gender. I do so hope that this little stereotype will one day pass.

My husband even tries to pull this one, I quickly remind him that he helped to make them, therefore he is helping to raise them, NOT babysitting.
