My almost 6month old (next week), only takes 4oz of formula at a time, and wakes up at least 2-3 if not more at night.... eats 2-4 oz and goes back to sleep for a couple hours and wants more... How can we get him to sleep through the night... and take down more formula at a time??? We have him eating cereal and a fruit for breakfast, and a veggie and cereal at dinner. I feel like I have tried EVERYTHING!!!
We have tried holding him off for a couple hours to eat more formula at a time, but nope... he still only will take 4oz and then he is full... HELP... we are exhausted from not getting barely any sleep at night!!

Hi Ashley, you poor thing!! Do you give the milk before the food? My bub used to be a very small milk drinker (about the same amount) so he was still on 6 to 7 bottles during the day. If your little one only wants to take small amounts at a time can you feed him more frequently during the day or does he refuse? My bub at 6 months used to feed every 3 hours during the day and then every 2 hours in the evening until I got his milk quota for the day into him, this stops them needing milk over night.

If he doesn't want to feed more frequently is he actually wanting milk overnight or is just a habit now for him to wake up overnight because then he gets to play with you, etc. Have you tried (only if he definitely doesn't need the milk) settling him at night without a feed? Can he fall asleep on his own? Until my bub learnt to sleep on his own he would wake up and want attention (or milk) because he didn't know how to fall back to sleep on his own. I hope you solve your dilemma soon and get some much needed sleep!!!
