My daughter was great and was sleeping through the night at about two months. I only work Saturdays and Sundays, but I work double shifts as a nurse. So sleep is very important to me on the weekends. She has learned how to stand up, holding the crib bars, and can't seem to get herself down, and stands threre crying. So I have been going in to lay her back down, but she keeps doing it. This usually happens at about 2:00 am. At night we used to hear the occasional cry, but since she has learned how to stand up she works herself into a tantrum. I took her out of the crib the other night and had to bring her to the living room so my husband could sleep because he had to get up to work. I fed her milk but she ended up waking up even more and wanted to play. I just don't know what to do because we have neighbors and I am concerned if we just let her cry they wil start to wonder, or that if I do let her cry she will end up hurting herself and hitting her head on the crib bars. Any suggestions?

Here's a few tricks that helped with my son when he was that age.

1) Is she hungry ? Put rice cereal in the bottle with the milk , she is growing, the extra will fill her up.

2) Is she wet? Use 2 diapers. Take scissors and cut lines in the crotch of one diaper to expose the filler. Once that diaper is on put a second one on over top. This way she will not leak and feel wet or cold , which will wake her up.

3) Tell your neighbours. Go to the neighbours directly beside you and explain to them that your daughter's routine is changing and she may call out during the night. Give your apologies if they happen to hear her but reassure them she is safe and you are with her. If they seem 'neighbourly' ( parents, gramma types ) ask their input, it's a great way to gleen their support. All the best Cathryn .
