After you heat up a bottle of breast milk, how long is it good for sitting out?

Fresh Breast milk is good out of the fridge for 4 hours, then to the fridge or freezer. once frozen milk is thaw it is good in the fridge for 24 hours then dispose. but once it is warmed it should be used within an hour, and yes once baby has eaten from bottle don't offer it at a later time, only within the hour because bacteria will multipy. lots of info available on the web about how long breast milk is good for after warming. and lactation specialist are usualy available at hospitals or locally if you search.

I'm breastfeeding my son he is only 13 days old. I wanted to monitor how much he was getting in fear because he was wanting to nurse for hour and half before acting satisfied?? I have given him breast milk in tommy tippee bottle. Now of course he is having trouble latching back on to breast ?? Is it never going to happen again? What bottles would be closest to moms breast?

I believe breast milk is good for four hours after warming, but don't put it back in the refrigerator or reheat. Also, if the baby does not finish it in one sitting you shouldn't try to feed it to them later. Bacteria from the babies mouth can get into the milk and multiply if it is left sitting.

I was told by my Lactation specialist that breast milk is only good for 1 hour after heating.

The bottle is good for one hour after its been warmed (it says not to rewarm after its been warmed), 2 hours if it hasn't been warmed and 24 hours in the refrigerator, at least that's what the back of the formula says. Always go by the label on the back of the formula that your using. If your breastfeeding, i think breast milk is good for the same amount of time after heating but just ask your pediatrician to be sure.
