The best thing I can tell you is to start looking now. Find out what your unemployment benefits will be. See if you'll get any severance pay and look into continuing your health insurance.

Hey Acquelyn, sorry to hear your going to be laid off soon. Like so many other persons this is a reality that has to be faced. Just know that the cycle continues. Another job maybe for few years, then what next, maybe your laid off again.
What I do know is that you need a Plan B, a Job and a Business.

Acquelyn, every legitimate business sells something, whether it be Products or Services, even you will have to sell yourself on your Resume in order to be hired again.

Remember lots of women and men own and operate their own Home Based Solution. It is a honest living, you have to treat it like a business and it will pay you like a business. What you are going to need, in whatever decision you make, is constancy of purpose and the determination to succeed against all odds.

To succeed in life and business, you have to jump at every opportunity, faster than you would jump to a conclusion.

ouch! I was laid off in the summer, my company was bought out by another and they laid off half of us! I got my resume buffed up and did a LOT of searching! I was able to find something after a few weeks, thank goodness because I'm the only working parent in our family!



My biggest suggestion is don't worry too much, things will work themselves out! Second get your resume up to date, etc. Also, start looking now, it may take a while, I was SUPER lucky to find something so quick! Your resume is the biggest thing to worry about, it will get you in the door! Make sure it's clean, and very specific to what you do. Also, make sure you have a cover letter, they do matter!



From looking at your website, are you looking for a home business or something to help bring in a little money? Starting a blog like you seem to have there is good, try adding a little more google adds, if you get enough hits or clicks it could help bring some money in. Make sure you have at least one new post a day, and include product reviews and links to other sites. The more (and better) the content the better.
