Are there any true work from home opportunities?

Currently I'm in that small gray area where I make too much money to receive government assistance but not enough to cover all of my expenses and be able to purchase food for myself. I also want to be home with my daughter more or just have the ability to supplement my current income so money isn't so tight.

I'm very skeptical and untrusting of all these "work part time & make full time income" schemes that I see posted here and around the internet.

I know there has to be a few that are for real and do offer a true alternative to working in the office for peanuts. My problem is knowing which ones are for real and which ones are scams, so I just avoid them all.

Is there anyone here who currently works from home and is successful? I don't have any money to invest and I'm no sales person. Also I don't want a sales pitch, I am looking for honest stories of what has worked for you and recommendations on where I can get started.

I am looking for 5 motivated, purpose driven people this month who I can train to build an International business like I have from home.

I am with an 18 year old global home-based business in the exploding industry which has over 1 million associates & growing, 70 patents, easy duplicable system in 20 countries including USA, no deliveries, work around your own families commitments, full training, travel holiday incentives to be won, a rewarding business that makes a difference in other people's lives.... As well as your own.

I began this business 14 yrs ago when my disabled daughter was 2 yrs old and had no money.

I have been on 6 x trips to USA & visited Disneyland, also holiday at huge resort in Cancun in Mexico & climbed the ancient Myan pyramids and went to Beijing & climbed The Great Wall of China. I live in Australia. I have business in 8 countries and expanding.

They only legitimate ones I know of are Mary Kay and Avon. Other alternatives are starting your own daycare, walking dogs, selling baked goods and/or dinners.

I am currently doing Scentsy which has helped my family. I has allowed me to stay at home with my girls while my husband is working. Our goal is to eventually be able to both stay at home with our girls and make just as much. Scentsy has been in business since 2004 and are still going strong. We have double host rewards in January so hosting a party is going to be easy. For more information www.nikkiwade.scentsy.us

Whatever you do, stay away from a website called HireMyParents.com. They are based in the UK, but help parents in the US as well try to find work from home jobs.

When I signed up with them, it was with the understanding that their would be a money back guarantee. After weeks of searching, I was never able to find a job and went in a different direction. I attempted to cancel my account with them, and it took three weeks for that to happen--despite their website's claim that they would do it same-day. Then I was notified that I would not receive a refund since it exceeded 60 days--something that no one told me about despite multiple emails to them stating my expectation that they provide me with a refund.

They have come to seem just like any other work from scam out there. Beware of them!
