Board games are great, puzzles, making board games and puzzles...depending on how messy you allow your children to get, for mine anything that involves paints, sand, water, food, mud, bubbles, soap, crayons, music, toilet paper! They get a kick out of it...any search engine will lead you to toddler/kids crafts. Good luck :)

My favorite time of day with my soon-to-be 1 year old is in the afternoon when all the kids in the neighborhood get off school. We go sit on the front porch and watch the bus and wave at the kids. Other parents come out with their dogs to greet the kids coming home so there is so much to look at!

Gardening...my three kids love it. It's educational, adds physical activity, and fun.

pretend play....like shop keepers, nurses or rescue people.

another idea is to build a fort or cubby house....or just kick a ball outside or collect leaves, sticks or things that involve adventure.

I work weird shifts, so when we do mum and H time, we like to make a mess! Aquadraw style, mat on the floor, load pen with water and away we go!

Not sure where you live but my daughter loves the ice rink and she is 3 1/2 yrs old. Any age child will love to skate.

I guess it depends on how old your kids are. My son likes to put together jigsaw puzzles with me and we all love to sing! Sometimes I'll put on some music and of course they'll come where I am and they'll join in with the song. My girls like for me to read to them and for some odd reason when it's nice outside my 4 year old always wants to go walking. They just like spending time with mom.

Have you tried soft play centres? We have a great one near us and I swear by it! By son is only 15 months but I think we will be going for years. Is a great way to let them use up their energy, oh and zoos if they like animals. Have fun!

children's museums are great.
sometimes i have art project day: cover a table with paper, put out markers, stickers, crayons, etc. i'm not brave enough for paint, lol!
is there a small zoo or children's petting zoo near by? we have a few near me, and my son loves going to see animals.
play days with other mommies and kids too.
beach?

Museums have lots of different things for you and your child to look at and explore. Also\ with the weather getting nicer baseball games and zoo are fun.
