My son will be 2 in May we feel its past time for the sippy cup, he protests and wont go to bed with out his ba ba with water ? Loves to drink from others cups but is too young for his own. How can we ease the switch to the sippy with less drama and loss of sleep?

 Well I had the same issue with my son... It was hard but all I did was start off with 8oz of milk ( or water in your case) and did that at night for one week. Then I only gave him 4oz for a week. Then 3 oz, 2 oz and 1 oz the last week. Then bye bye bahbah! And I told him every week... it's 8 oz this week and then 4 next week and so on. It worked. I think he realized I was serious. And at the end of the 1 oz week, I sent the bottles " to the bottle farm" ( the trash). All of them!

My son was pretty good about going from bottle to cup. We just got rid of the bottles in the house and did the "big boy" praise when using the cup. We used cups that couldn't spill but still allowed him to have the bottle for bed. From there, he was given a little bit of milk at bedtime but no bottle in bed. The transition went smoothly as it dwindled off.



I found sticking to my guns was the best, anytime I let the no bottle theory slide, I had to start over again, but I just didn't buy new bottles and got rid of them as they needed replacing.
