My daughter is nearly five and i am struggling toget her toe nails cut ive tried when she is asleep but hides them
down the back of the bed, i have tried saying she will get a treat but that doesnt work. Ive tried just getting a hold of her but she cries so much she makes herself sick.
Has anyone got any other ideas i could try?

Got another one---how about going on the internet and finding a site that has a person with gross long toenails (obviously screen the site to ensure nothing is inappropriate). Kids are very visual! You could show her the picture of the long toenails and say something similar to "(Your daughter's name), see what happens when you don't cut your toenails? Do you want your toenails to look like that, because that is what is going to happen if we don't cut them." That may do the trick! :)

I went through this one as well. Try making a game out of it--we called the clippers "Mr. Chompers" Silly, I know, but it worked for our little one (she was 3 at the time). As far as a "5 year old," that is tough. How about telling her if she allows you to cut them, then you will paint her toenails and paint yours as well?? Make it a toenail party! I'm all for bribery! :)
