You can definately make more money staying at home. Go to www.projectmahma.com (moms at home making a difference). If you're interested, type in my name as the person who referred you (Renee Sullivan-Auburn, Massachusetts) or you can just email me at resully3470@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Good luck whatever you decide to do!!

Laura,

You could avoid childcare costs completely if you work out of your home! I help other moms earn a dependable and residual income without selling or investing, there is absolutely no risk involved. We have the BBB Hall of Fame, INC 500 Hall of Fame, and an amazing 25 year track-record of consitent growth. I'd be happy to share the opportunity with you if you are ever open to listening!

for my family my husband actually had to quit his job when we had our child because he couldn't cover the cost of Childcare working full time. Try finding jobs with opposite hours or the least amount of overlapping time that will help cut back on child care.

Also when i started my new Job here, my work has a benefit where we get some money towards childcare if we had our son it it. You might be able to look into that as well.

for me the best was to work very close to home trying to manage both.
If you can a job which will allow you to minimize the cost of daycare and do some work from home or through your social life this can be best. if you are interested in extra work involving spreading the word of organic please

Thanks Alice,
My baby will only be 6 months when I will look to go back to work. I hate the fact I would be leaving her so young and miss out on the best bits but I can't see away around being able to afford staying at home doing nothing. I would need to get into work.
What is available for working from home jobs?

Laura,
My husband & I have 4 girls. We choose to home school the oldest (only one school age) and the only nice daycares in the area run 250+ a week per child (I'm averaging because it's like 400 for the baby, but about 200 for the 2nd & only 100 for after-school care for our oldest).
We figured that unless I can make $4000 a month after taxes, it would be more economical for a) me to stay home, b) work only part time or at a job (like cleaning houses) where I could take the kids with me, or c) us work alternating shifts. We tried working alternating shifts... but getting to say "hi", swap keys, and say "bye" was not enough couple time for us - and we never had the same day off! I tried to find a part time job that was okey with 4 kids tagging along, but most were already taken.
We couldn't get any help from the government. Although we were struggling to make ends meet with just one vehicle & a $250/month grocery budget, they said we "made too much" because we were married. I could have gotten 100% childcare reimbursement and lots of other aid (food stamps, medical aid, and housing subsidy) if I were single with 4 kids and making as much as my husband was making!! That is just wrong. But whatever.
We've come to discover that the best economical thing is for me to stay home (I work FT from home), work, run the farm, do things to stretch our money like line-drying clothes, and buying in bulk and canning, making our own "bases" like spaghetti sauce, broths, preserves, mayonnaise, soups, and chili in bulk and canning them.
If you have to work outside the home, there are far more factors than just child care: there will probably be more convience foods, clothes maintenance costs, vehicle maintenance costs, and stress. Part time is probably best, especially if your children are in school and you can work during school time. :)
hope this helps!
