You can try your local toy for tots, and check your local military base. Every year they hold an even for children right before christmas. Pre-registration is required.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

The local community center where I live does a "Christmas Sharing" program every year where families can pick up toys, clothes, etc for their children. Like many of the other moms posted, check with the police station, churches, etc. to find out if a program like this exists near you.

I'm not sure where you are located, but there is a police sub-station located on the northeast corner of Broward Blvd. and N.W.27th Ave. that does a "toys for tots" Christmas giveaway around Christmas time every year. Also, try the fire depts. I know for a fact that every year they also collect boxes upon boxes of toys for families in need for Christmas! Try those two places if you can, i guarantee you'll find things for your children there! Good Luck!!!!!!

The Salvation Army does a local event where you sign up for your child and then you personally ge tto pick through everything donated and choose what your child gets. There is usually a Christmas Store from Social Services also. Try these and if there are none in your area, start going to different churches.

You could check in to local radio stations... I'm not sure where you live but in our city, our local radio station collect toys for tots and stuff of the teens count too.... You could even check with your child's school ( if they are in school). Last year my work, put together baskets for parents at differents schools

The Angel Tree program is wonderful, the fire department (both where I live now, and other places I've lived do this) will gather toys and deliver them with Santa in the fire engine, toys for tots, and lots of churches will also do things. I grew up well below the poverty line, learned a lot from my mom who was a single mom of children in 3 different generations. I hope all goes well, I was amazed when I got older just how hard my mom worked for all she got for us.

Usually if you call your local police department or assistance office (that provides medical cards/health care/WIC) they can tell you where to get that information. There are many places that will purchase gifts for your babies.

Last year my work helped gather presents for children for the community of parents who registered at the hope house on division street. Not sure if they are doing it this year though.
