Feeling like a broken record, got any tips?

I’m beginning to think I’m a broken record... repeating the same thing over and over again to my kids. I often wonder how many times I have to repeat and remind them before they will begin to do the things they know they should be doing... without being reminded! --Versus me constantly reminding them to “Bring your plates to the table, put your shoes away, make your bed, stop whining, brush your teeth” etc. etc.

Do you have any tricks or know any techniques that can help me?

till around 8 or nine, o later if they hav stubborn tendencies or are the youngest. but sometimes trading a reward or denying them something they like can be an incentive. when my boy was 8yrs his favourite Chuck Norris series was on TV at 8pm on Sunday and his bedtime on school nights was 8. so I made a deal with him; if everyday after school he remembered to hang his swimming trunks and towel, and put his scool clothes properly in the washing basket, and a few other minor duties, without me having to remind him when I got home then he could watch the episode for that week. if on any day he didn't, sorry no Chuck Norris that Sunday. it worked, after a while he just did is duties without any reminders. i had no maid and had two little ones in daycare so i couldn't always remember stuff and it helped that he did his part
