Has anyone read and used the advice in this book? My husband and I couldn't get up no more and had to do something for our 18 month old son. We are on our second night and had EXCELLENT results. Last night it took 40 minutes to cry it out and tonight only 4!!!! I'm so excited I just hope this continues :) Any stories or advice from using this book?

My son just turned two, and I have used this book as my guide since he was about 3 months. It's been wonderful-- Owen sleeps well, and my husband and I have had a grownup dinner together nightly without any crying or bedtime drama since Owen was about 4 months old. It's been a marriage saver. It's even easy for us to go out and leave him with a babysitter. He loves his bed!

I used some of the principles from this book early on, but I found that it wasn't working too well for my son. When he was 5 months old, I read "Good Night, Sleep Tight" by the Sleep Lady (Kim West) and found that her "system" worked better for us. I do think that Healthy Sleep Habits was a good book to read to just learn more about infant sleep habits, patterns, and needs.

I haven't read this book, but I can tell you that's what we decided to do about a month ago. My son is now 11months old and still had to be rocked to sleep, so we decided on a weekend to try letting him go to sleep on his own. He cried for about 25 minutes the first time we did this and now if he cries it's for about 30 seconds to a minute. They get over it quick, and so do we!!

I haven't read this book but read Babywise and it sounds just from the title that it's based on the same principles.  We love Babywise as it has helped both of our daughters sleep well at night.  I'll have to check this book out as well.  Thanks for the reference!

i have not read the book, but i strongly believe that if they do have good sleeping petterns they are alot happier. my son is 7 months pregnant and sleeps through the nights or if he wakes up, its once for a feed and then goes back down. see i do agree with that!!!
