Help with a father who just can't handle it!!! I need advice ASAP

My fiance is generally good with the baby, however, more recently he keeps getting more and more frustrated, texts me at work saying he can't handle 'this' anymore. Doesn't interact with the baby, he just wants him to entertain himself & he's only 6 months old. I don't know if this is mental illness, or if he just doesn't want to be a dad. It's breaking my heart, tearing apart our relationship, and I am 100% sure it's not good for the baby. Tonight, I had to leave work because he 'just couldn't take it anymore'. I am on the brink of breaking our realtionship off of 2 years. I don't know what else to do. I feel that he is selfish for wanting to do his 'own' thing and not watch the baby, but yet I understand what a big life change this is for most men. Any suggestions???

It is a big life change but he's had 6 months to come to terms that he is now a father. Have you sat down and talked to him to find out what the problem is? Sit down when neither of you are frustrated to discuss everything. I will say that dads are a little different than us moms that they use the tv a little too much, don't interact as much as we would like them to, but the whole having to leave work because he can't take it anymore is extreme. Does he work at all? I understand why you would be so frustrated.
