How do I keep my toddler occupied?

My daughter is great! We really love playing and dancing and watching tv, but only if I'm sitting with her doing the same thing or nothing at all.
The moment I get up to fold laundry or clean the kitchen or even prepare something to eat, she comes running asking for attention.
She turns whiny and I have a feeling she's just bored and wants my attention.
If I give her any more of my time NOTHING will get done in the house.
I work all day and give her as much time as possible when I get home. In the weekend I give her my time as well, but I have to get so many things done around the house to make up for not doing them during the week.

Anyone has any advice?

Thanks Karen.

This is great advice. I have tried this somewhat but I will try at it harder. She's 15 months and likes tv too much, but only if I'm watching as well. I'll see if the "helping hand" approach works.

Do you have learning dvd's for her to watch? How about a minnie kitchen so she can cook when you cook, A doll house keeps my g-daughter occupied. She can play with a toy iron when you iron and fold.Let her help fold.Do she have a toy vacuum? A toy broom and dust pan.Have her copy the same things you do.
