How do you meet new people?

I have spendt so much time taking care of my children, that I have lost my adult friends that I used to have. I tried to start the relationship back up but it seems that we are now in differnet parts of our lives that don't mesh. I would love to get out and meet new people, but don't know where to look! Any Ideas?

I suggest joining a class or group at the local community college or rec center. Find some activity that you like to do-like hiking or kayaking or scrapbooking or something and find a group of like-minded individuals. When you're away from the kids and you get some "me time" it can be very healing, and you can meet all sorts of awesome people too!
