How often do you schedule play dates for your kids?

I know I find it sometimes difficult as a working mom to schedule playdates but I also don't have a Monday-Friday job so I'm sometimes able to do something in the middle of the week but can't always do stuff on the weekends. I try to do something once every couple of weeks for my kids 6 and 2 but it's definitely difficult, thankfully most of the SAHM moms I know are more then willing to work around my schedule.

What about you are you able to schedule play dates for your kids?

Like you, I can't do anything on the weekends because with J in school, and John & I both working, the weekends are the only time we have to spend as a family so we usually go out of town for some R&R. I only work during school hours and not every day, so after school is the best time, but J has Taekwondo 4 days a week, and Baseball 3 nights a week. Tuesday is our only weekday afternoon free, and I use that to give him extra study/homework time, plus he needs a day just to relax at home.

I TRY to schedule play dates on Thursdays because he only has Taekwondo that day (no baseball), and it doesn't start until 6:30, so I can get homework and snak done by 4pm and still have about 90 minutes to play. Unfortunately, it makes for a very late dinner, so bedtime gets pushed back. It doesn't happen every week.

Summers are easier; I don't work in the summer and I can't stand being at home, so he gets 2-4 play dates a week. I figure that makes up for the lack of school year play dates?
