erin, i was interested in doing this and looked into training. however, i just didn't trust the many "schools" that are out there. can you give me information on where you trained and did they help you find a job? my concern is putting money into this and not being able to find a doctor to work for. i would appreciate any information you can give me. thanks.

Hello. I also worked for West (West Teleservices). I worked for them on-site in Tulsa for nearly five years as an agent, quality assurance advisor, and eventually supervisor. My mother fell ill and I was in the midst of a complicated pregnancy and decided to leave the company. After my son was born I returned to the company as an "at-home-agent". It's just like Tonya the other mom said. Absolutely no out of pocket expenses from you are required, unless you count the cost of postage of course. It's a great company, a legitimate one, and one that's been around for many, many years. While at home I worked for Babies R Us and Toys R Us doing baby registry customer service, I worked for the San Francisco Bee newspaper, I helped for a short time answering calls related to the switch to digital TV, and also assisted with Red Cross hotlines during hurrican season. if you are a good typer and likes the medical field..."medical transcriptionist"..thats what i am doing now..you study and do you schooling at home online and once you get your degree..its work from home making $15-$30 hr..its threw "at home professions"..it is real and legite..not a scam its threw a college..i went to a seminar for it and started it right away..cause i was trying to find something from home and i found this and it is great..if you are intrested let me know and i can you give the website to check it out and the telephone numbers..now since it is threw a school it does cost money..but its cheep and has a low payment and is pay as yougo...$55 a month..and if you dont have the money one month they dont keep charging you..you pay it when you get it...it is really a great program if you are intrested in the medical field...and all it is is typing up dr's dictations into medical reports for them to read back to the patient...when you go to the dr. and see them talk into the recorder..the send those recording to you and yu type them into the medical report..thats it ..so if you are intrested more and want more info..send me a message and i will gladly give it to you...

i know that you have received many things to look in but here is one more. I am a Herbalife Distributer and i get to work from home. Yes there is a $65 charge to get your distributer packet but it comes with the herbalife marketing plan so it tells you how to do the work step by step. I have been on the products for 1 month and have lost 6.6 pounds and 20 3/4 inches. I started at a 25 % discount on products i sell and i only order the products when customers order them from me so i don't have to keep anything i don't usually have on hand and it takes only 3 days to get my shipments in. I just qualified by selling $500 worth in 1 month and now get $35 discount. My sister just signed up under me and now i make the difference of our % discounts we make from the company. I worked for a long time for a company called WEST..it is a customer service line. You sign up with them (they ask for NO money), you go get a document they send you notarized showing that you are who you say you are, then you train, on your computer for whatever line you will be working on..PAID TRAINING..then you go to the employee site and pick up hours..as many or as few as you like! You do have to have high speed internet and a home phone..whenever you sign in to work, the calls that are coming in for your line are routed to your number, you answer it, everything you need is in front of you on the website to assist the customer. The customer will dial whatever 800 number or whatever and never know that the calls are being routed to at home agents! You also have to agree to a background check, which THEY pay for to make sure you are not a crook, as some programs you may have to accept credit cards and such...took just a little while to get set up..you have to apply and then do a telephone interview, you have to download their software so you can use their programs, again it is FREE, have your background check and paperwork done, but then..you have control! You wont get rich, I did it for over 2 years, worked for Home Shopping Network, CitiBank, ect... average pay is around 9 bucks an hour, depending on the line...but you can earn extra income for your family without ever getting out of your pjs!

The company I am with requires $29 to get started. That is fully refundable within 120 days if you decide it isn't for you. I'm not sure if you were asking if it costs money to get the information or just to get started. If a company asks for money before you get info it is most likely a scam.

The company that I am a distributor for does require an up front cost. I have found it to be a small yet well worth investment in my business and the future of it! It gives me access to their complete website, packers, pickers, and shippers also supplies resourses and a voice on the other end when I need help! They are my complete business on call!! Where else could I get all this overhead, employees and management with a small fee to minimize my time!
I would be very leery of a company that has a small or no upfront cost or a get rich quick scheme. You need to research and find out what exactly you will be paying for and the best that they will benefit you! Nothing worth while comes without a cost or effort on your part!!!
