I left mine @ 8 weeks. I had to go back, and my company is not the most understanding. I had visited the facility a few times before he was born. I met with the teachers and watched how they dealt with the other children. I also left him there for 2 days before I had to go back to work. It was not for the entire day. It was just to let my mind be at ease. So i dropped him off and then went back in a few hours. And of course everything was ok. The next day I dropped him off for a longer period of time. And when I went back, he was OK. The two days definitely helped my mind to be at ease. It was a little rough but I like working, so once I got back into the swing of things it really didnt bother me. My son is now 9 months and loves school. He has done finger paintings and gets read to everyday and is able to interact with other kids the same age. I am happy I chose the school I did. I think it will only benefit him in the long run. He will be more social, outgoing and able to adjust to different people.
I have also seen kids start daycare around 8 or 9 months after being home with their mom the entire time. Not a pretty sight.
Teigan has not had any seperation anxiety when I leave him at school. He knows them all and is happy to see them. Yours will be ok too, and probably end up loving it jsut as mine does. Good Luck.

My daughter went to childcare at 3 months old and she has had no problems at all! she loves it there and it's really fun to watch her grow up with all the same kids she has been with for almost 3 years now!
I'm also a childcare provider and can tell you that for infants 3-6 months is the best time for them to start, if you wait much longer than that you start to get into the stranger anxiety stage and it can become a pretty difficult adjustment.
just make sure you shop around and find a center that fits your needs and you are comfortable with!

Yes he was sick quite often and he started in the late fall, so when everyone gets sick. But he's 9 months now and gets arunny nose now and then but overall hes good. The doctor says that it will build his immune system now and later he will have a strong system. So even for the sickness there is light at the end of the tunnel.
