Hi ladies,

I only have one child and trying to keep up with her plus a full time job, blah blah blah has left me constantly exhausted and feeling stretched too thin (as I'm sure you can all appreciate). On top of that my biological clock has started ticking again and I really want my daughter to have siblings but I'm in awe of Moms that manage all of this and multiple children. How do you do it?!! Does anyone have any time efficient stress busters/energy builders? Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Thanks!

First of all:
Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matt. 6.24)

It is tempting to anticipate future challenges, but the truth is, you will find the means to deal with situations as they come up. I have discovered that I can take on much more than I ever thought if I have a positive attitude. When I feel overwhelmed, I tell myself that there are moms all over the world who are coping with situations far more challenging than my own. It gives me the faith that whatever it is, it is manageable somehow.

I try to go to the gym on my lunch hour 2-3 times/week - twice for a cardio workout and once for yoga. If you can squeeze in morning or nighttime yoga or a jog, you will probably feel much happier healthier and more balanced. (my favorite yoga dvd is with Ali McGraw. it is about 60 min. but you could just do the first 20)

Also bear in mind that the moms you see who seem to have it all together, probably don't. Either they have closet meltdowns, a messy house or a nanny. ;) Don't set the bar too high. And be sure to enjoy the happy moments as much as you can.

My husband is home in the evenings and I always take a hot bath after the kids are in bed. This is my "me" time where the kids are asleep and there are no potty knocks at the door! I also get up before everyone else some mornings so I can enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the news in peace!

A nice warm shower with music of your choice blaring as long as you arn't having to listen for your daughter. you have to take a shower anyways =)
