No time for me

Don't get me wrong. I have no regrets about becoming a mom. However if there is one thing that is stressing me out is that there is no time for me. I'm a Middle School teacher so I'm teaching and taking care of kids in the morning. I get up in the morning, go to work, pick up my son afterwards go home, cook and clean and when he goes to sleep now hubby wants time for him. We go to sleep and the day is over. So when do I get some me time? Any of you guys facing the same issue? How do you guys incorporate time for yourselves during the day?

I have the same feelings. I pretty much had a meltdown and went on strike last summer for a while. I finally told myself during nap time-I wont clean. It's me time and I did something just for me. I talked to my husband about it and he understood but couldn't really help much because he was just starting a new job and putting in lots of extra hours to get going. We have balanced out a bit but now that I work part-time part of the year, I take one day to clean, one day to do me stuff. I've actually started getting up an hour earlier to go work out and just get some extra things done before the day starts and I feel much better. No, I don't like getting up extra early, but again, I feel better at the end of the day when I do. Try talking to your husband and see if he can do solo work with the child for even just 1 hour on the weekends for you and talk to him how you feel. Good luck and I hope you can find a balance somewhere for yourself. Everyone needs it.

Hi Veronica
Sorry to say it seems to be the in thing ...mums dont really get time for themselves ..I have 4 children and still fight for time for me.
Could you not collect your son a little later on prehaps one day per week and take that time just for you ?
Prehaps if hubby could come home early once a week or at the weekend and take your son out for some father son time ..
Other than that put your son to bed and take a long warm bath .......and remember to lock the door
Good Luck and take care
