I work night shift part time, two 12 hour shifts, then come home and care for my 2 year old and 10 month old because my boyfriend works days. We worked it out this way so we wouldn't have to pay for child care. I worked full time up until I had my second child, then went to part even though we could really use the money. Anyway, I had been getting a couple hours of sleep before I had to go back to work until here recently, when my oldest has begun to outgrow naps. Now I literally stay up from Sunday morning around 7 until Tuesday evening when my boyfriend comes home. I stay completely exhausted!!! I don't know what to do. I can't afford daycare as we are barley scraping by as it is, and don't qualify for childcare assistance (even if I did, I don't know that I would be able to leave them with people I don't know...). Any other moms out there with a similar situation?? How do you sleep??

You could attempt to adjust your kids sleep schedules. Have Daddy keep them up later at night. Maybe the will sleep later and you could get some sleep in the morning.

You could also trade child care with another mom. So they could take yours for a few hours and then you take theirs for a few hours. That way you both get a break.

I initiated a quiet time at my house so my son had to go into his room for one hour and play quietly until mommy came to get him, now my son has both ADHD andODD so this took a few tries to get it to work but I moved a small tv into his room and basically told him he had to leave mommy sleep until a certain show was over and then I just went and napped, it is hard but you have to take the time to rest or you will get sick and will be no good for your kids

Thats what I used to do when she was smaller. It wasn't really bad then. It's soooo much harder now because I can't just lay down with her and know that she'll stay. Plus I have another one to take care of.
