Or even if you are partnered -- How did you manage working full-time, going to school and/or trying to get certified in (whatever your concentration is)?

I will be a single mom in one month (I'm due with my first in October!). When I got pregnant, I was finishing my first year of graduate coursework in accounting online. I work full-time and anticipate going back to school in February to finish my master's degree. I would like to sit for my CPA exam as soon as I qualify.

Any advice on time management, what you had to sacrifice to get you through it, or anything else? Thanks!

Hi Karla, a good support system is what I'm lacking. I mean my family is of course supportive of me and the baby but are not available for things like helping me with the baby for an hour or so a night while I do homework. If I am to do it, I'm definitely going to have work on getting some help and managing my time very wisely...I guess, I'll have to see what happens when the baby comes and maybe try taking one class to see how it goes. I was going to University of Phoenix which was great for flexibility but has a pretty demanding workload. Thanks for the advice ladies!

Hello,

I work full-time and am in graduate school right now. My school is fully online, which makes it much easier. It is not easy and I rely heavily on my mom and my sisters to help watch my son so I can finish my homework. Do you have this type of support system available? Another thing that is important is to use your time very wisely!

Yes, I will have daycare. I live with my dad (mom passed away years ago) but he won't be much help with the baby because he's just not like that. Ill be taking the online courses and thats at least 2 hrs of study time each night!! I know I'll have a difficult time. I had thought about not returning to school because it was hard enough when it was just me and of course i want to make sure i spend enough time with my son...but I feel like its the only way to make our lives better and I don't want to wait. Hmmm, help would definitely help! Thanks!

Well you certainly have a full plate. It's not going to be easy. Do you plan to put the baby in daycare? Or do you have someone to watch him/her? I worked full time and finished my degree with 2 kids, but I wasn't single at the time. I am now and it would be really hard for me to do that. My mom would watch my kids, but I don't know for how long.....can you take online courses?

Also you are going to have to spend A LOT of time studying. It's going to be hard with a newborn in tow. You are definitely going to have to get someone to watch the baby. I had to study every night and it was no easy task with 2 kids and a husband who was uncooperative! He always said I was neglectful.

Your best bet is to have someone you know watch the baby and do your best!
