To cry or not to cry...

SO, I need some sleep...Noelle is just not sleeping through the night, It is so hard for me to put her down and let her cry, so she ends up staying up until 9 or ten and then wakes up in the middle of the night to get a bottle and then she up by 5 or 6 in the morning. My mother watches her all day while im at work and she "cant bear to wake a sleeping child" and lets her take 2 long naps amounting to 5 or 6 hours a day...I have asked her to limit nap time, but she will not listen, Noelle is 10 months old and any advice would be appreciated!

That is so hard and I understand because my mom watches my kid too! And if she's anything like my mom she does it for free. So it's really hard to impose your will. Couple that with the fact that my mom likes it when my son sleeps because she doesn't have to keep them occupied and it equals sleepy sleepy mom! Now I don't know if there is a partner in all this, but my husband and I would switch nights getting up in the middle of the night. This was amazingly helpful. If this is not possible plead or even cry a little to your mom and see if you can get her to give up one nap. Try to get her to start this change the day before your day off that way she won't be too annoyed by a cranky baby and you are able to keep the pattern going. Good luck! And here's to sleep!
