Hi my name is Christina Burke. I have an energetic son Robert, AKA Robbie. I work full time as a trauma PA. I work about 12 extra hours a week to pay the bills. About 8 shifts are over night. So most days I'm exhausted or running around to get things done. My son is not in daycare. My husband and I have worked our schedules so one of us is always home because we just can't afford daycare. I've noticed even though we do lots of play dates n trips to the park ect. He seems not as socialized as most kids his age. He's good once he gets to know the other kid but that usually takes several 1:1 play dates. If anyone has any advise I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello! I'm Melody and have a wonderful husband and happy-go-lucky 2 year old. I am a fairly young mom (24) and work full time for a doctor. I constantly wish I had more time at home with my baby, and for myself!! I love running and staying active, but don't usually find the motivation for it. I would love to connect with some other moms! :)

Be Present, that is my advice. Don't multi-task when you are with your child. Pay attention to the depth and quality of you presence when with your child. This will mean that you'll need to restrict idle time and multi-task when not whith you child.

Hi. I am new to this site/community. I'm always looking up things for my son whether it be re: his development, health, education etc I am a new mom; my little angel is just recently 5-months; what a joy all the new changes etc!!
I'm hoping to obtain some advice, maybe answers, any guidance on my current situation. Long story short, his father and I had moved in together a few months into my pregnancy &were engaged shortly after ( note- we have been on& off together for over 5 yrs and always spoke of this type of a commitment, life together; we were very excited ). So, things were going well; I almost couldn't believe how good it all was and felt. Then, as things got a little stressful financially, mostly, he started to pull away/shut down and I felt alone. Sometimes he'd open up, talk to me but mostly he didn't and then became nasty and eventually called off engagement, (via an email). Now I hadn't figured anything out as far as going back to work because at that time, couple mon ago, I didn't really need to so thought would have little more time. When together then, I mentioned I could start a work from home job and since all this occurred, I have been trying to find something like that Or at least something where my son can also go like a childcare on premises. We just cannot afford daycare now and I've heard how crazy expensive it can be. Does anyone have any advice on this for a recent Single mom who is trying to figure out/ plan a lot for my son and I going forward. I don't know how I'm going to afford rent on own going forward, or things we need; I do get some things from WIC but just found out not eligible to receive food stamps because we still live together and they take his income into the mix! How do I prove even though that's case, we don't have shared account and I don't see that money. Very frustrating as well as little scary. I'm asking and researching etc but still feel at a loss. Eventually one of us will have to move out; where do I go from here with no $ really and this, obviously, all new to me! Please advise if can; thank u!!!:)

Hi I'm Stacey and I'm a newbie here. I have a beautiful 7 month old son and work afternoons/evenings teaching at home. It's tough working my hours and having a little one. I struggle with wanting to be there for every moment of his life, helping him sleep better and finding time for myself (eating would be a plus!). I'm sure I'm not the only one, so it would be great to find some online friends!

I understand what you're going through 12 years ago I was 21 with a newborn and a 15 months daughters, and signal mother. It was rough but as mothers we have to take care of what we got into. Thank God I had family to help me out. Now 12 years later finally have settling down but I reenrolled back to school so it tough.. and my baby boy is a cry baby.. but just have patience. Relax. Your baby knows your are irritated upset and they cry more.. so just relax N it will get better.

Hello everyone! I am a first time mom to a wonderful 4 month old baby boy. I currently work a full time job and am in the process of finding a part time to supplement our income as my fiancé starts school in a few weeks. I am nervous about this as I already feel guilty for not being home with our little one as much as I would like to however I do know the importance and the benefit to my future husband finishing school as it will in the end help our family. Any thoughts or advice on coping would be wonderful.

Hi there everyone, I am new to this circle and I am looking for supports and advice.
My son is 8 months,I am 26 years old, I work full time with in hospitality. A receptionist.
I feel so exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, on edge, just lost within my self at times.
I feel that I am not cut out to be a good mother. When my baby is crying non stop I get so irritated, that I imagine just walking out and leaving him.. Does that make me a bad mother??
I love him so much, I was not prepared for him at all, however I now cant picture my life with out him...
How do I manage all of this???? him, life, work, my mental state of mind????

Hi! I'm Kate. I work full-time in a restaurant as everything you can imagine. I just recently turned my general manager position over to someone else because I am also going to school full-time. I am just the bar manager and bartender now which is much less stressful. I have a 6 year old daughter who is in first grade. Life is extremely busy for us to say the least. Luckily, I have a great support system thanks to my mother and father. I couldn't have asked for better parents who support me in all I do-especially when it comes to finishing my degree.

As a stay at home mom for 20 years, I had often thought I wanted to get back to work. My youngest has special needs and is 1 of 3 in the US with his diagnosis. The idea of a 9 to 5 job scared me. I searched for a long time. My friends with kids both typical and special needs talked about direct sales. I decided to take the leap and join a direct sales company. Having no experience. I am loving every minute of it and am doing well. Perfect balance of family time, work time and me time!

Hello all! We just had our 1st child, beautiful boy Finnegan. Will be returning to work after my 6wk "disability" leave is over. I'm the one w/ the better paying job and insurance and coincidentally my husbands comp just layed he and tons of others off. Decent severence, so he's able to stay home w/ baby and start working on our business so hopefully we can be done working for the man and both "stay home" eventually. Enough babbling (i'm feeding at 4am). Hope we can all help eachother out here in this crazy juggling act :)
