What are your New Year Resolutions?

It’s as if someone has given us a life-sized eraser along with a permission slip reading, “You get a do-over.” Isn’t that how it feels when we start a new year, we resolve to do things better, to start anew? For some, 2010 was filled with empty promises including a commitment to: eating right, finding help to work out life’s challenges, having more patience with our kids and in creating our own destiny with a career we are truly passionate about. The good news is that the giant eraser, along with the mark of 2011, allows each one of us the opportunity to give it another go.

What do you resolve to do?

All of that went out the window a few years ago. What I resolved to do was ask the Lord to guide me to accomplish those things which matter most and help me to see within myself the value of each one. By beginning my day with a heartfelt prayer, a positive outlook and purposely seeking the good in those things which surround me (family, work, food...lol) I am aware of the mission and the decisions come easy. They cost little to nothing, but the rewards are sweeeeeeeet. And yes....I have lost weight, and feel good all over!

My new years resolution is to lose the weight i gained during my preganncy. Its been 5 months since I've had an emergency C-section but I just cannot seem to shed these unwanted kilos. Thankfully, my fiance loves me the way I am but I am not happy with my weight and therefore want to do something about it...

I set goals for myself this year: to stop biting my nails, pay down bills and save more money, loose a little weight (not drastic, but could stand to loose a few pounds). Im giving myself the year to see if I can accomplish some or all of these.

1. Walk on the treadmill at least three times a week for 30 minutes each.

2. Get my kitchen and bathroom painted and my house on the market by March 1.

3. Post a blog at least once a week.

I've done a blog each week so far, and have painted my bathroom...I'm on my way! I've only done the treadmill once, but a majority of that was because it took us so long to take our Christmas tree down...and that's where the treadmill goes. :)

To be more aware of my actions that will affect my long term plans. I recently was inspired by a short essay written by Brian Tracy (see: http://wp.me/pRa1N-aT) and have decided to be more conscientious about my day-to-day actions.

My New-Years-Resolution is to take care of me! Don't get me wrong I love being a wife and mother but I really need to take more time out for me...i.e. personal spa days, bubble bath nights etc.

Over the years I was pretty good with resolutions and then would kind of stop, then pick back up again. We're always doing family activities, but will do more like hiking, camping. I'm going to be more crafty with my daughter, my hubby and I are motiviating each other to exercise (he wants to lose weight and I need to gain weight). Never needed to spend money on going to the gym, we do a lot of things at home, we have the Wii Fit and lots more games to go along with the Wii now, we take more walks and go jogging around our neighborhood, I plan on cooking more (lucky for me, I'm usually off work earlier than other people so we never have dinner later than 6:30pm), being more organized. And my last is not really as much a  resolution, its for more of a prayer of hope. I really want my mother and father-in-law to stay strong during this difficult time my evil sister-in-law is putting everyone through last year. I truly hope and pray 2011 will be better for them and help my SIL grow up and stop being such a horrible person and realize she's really hurting the family and her kids will resent her one day.

Haven't made any actual resolutions, but start college classes to finish my degree this week, so guess thats in the works. I also want to try harder to balance work, family life, and now school better. I'm not always good at budgeting my time and tend to procrastinate, so gonna try hard not to procrastinate as much. Also trying hard to learn to delegate more. Others can't/won't help if I dont ask. Daily I try to be thankful and pray to God for what I have and what others so desperately need. Helps to keep things in perspective, and i think it is important to me and my family!
