My son has scoliosis (which is a curving of the spine that continues to curve as he grows), and it is now @ 53%. The doctors wanna operate but I'm not feeling it. for those who dont know my baby is 11, 150lbs and Autistic. The procedure consist of straigtening the spine and inserting metal rods to hold it in place alng with screws. They say if he doesnt get the surgery the curve can potentially puncture his lung or haem other organs. Yet, the surgery, can paralize him. WHats a mother to do?

Kyona,
My prayers go out to you and Louisa. I agree with her there is no one who can give you advice on this one. I am praying for your strength. I know God is able. What ever you decide I am claiming and reiceiving blessings for you and your son!

It is the lesser of 2 evils from where I see it.

MY older son had brain surgery at 7 weeks old and was on a ventilator and died several times but would definitely have died without the surgery.

I'm afraid that noone only you can make that choice and i would not even give an opinion on it other than to say weight up both options and decide whick one do you think will give him a better chance of enjoying his life and whicever one you think that is goes with it.

Noone can influence this decision but if you want to talk send me a message
