Ones that don't need batteries! Seriously, it depends upon my childs interests, Lately it has been legos or crafty type items. Or computer games, like I spy. I do like the ones that make them think or learn something new.

my 2 year old already plays nintendo DS games, although I would not recomend this since the system is not the most durable thing. I find most learning games that have buttons and make noise they love. The classics are always good too a simple ball, sidewalk chock, and hula hoops and all provide lots of outdoor play fun!! My daughter and even my son loved imagination games like dress up, cooking, or zoo keeper at that age.

my son has electronic books that teach the alphabet and numbers while having fun.
They are for pre schoolers and they learn a lot!

i agree, get leapfrog, it's amazing! not only doesit keep them occupied so you can have some "mommy time" but it helps them learn so fast and teaches them in the best way possible!

I always went by the package recomendations up until my son was 4or5. he really liked things with buttons and lots of sounds and lights, plus any learning toys. Leapfrog was definately a favorite.

So far, one of the best toys I've found for my 2 and 4 year old are figurines. We collect the Schleich animal figurines that provide lots of fun. You can buy them at better toystores and at Target!

Hi, my son was given a 'Leap Frog Fridge Phonics & Numbers' for his second birthday by a friend and loved it, plays with all the time. Recently we bought him a Leap Frog Word Whammer and again loves it and continues to play with it all the time. Hope this helps Mel
