When do you find time to work out?

Hi All,

I had my baby exactly 5 months ago today, and I have yet to step foot back into a gym. I immediately lost about 20 lbs after having my daughter, I guess from breastfeeding and going up and down our steps with and for her, but I still have some weight I want to lose. It's so hard for me to get up early in the morning because I get up at least once in the middle of the night with her, and I feel guilty about going in the evenings after work because she goes to sleep around 8:30pm and if I go after work, I wouldn't get home until 7pm and only be able to spend a little over an hour with her.

Any suggestions? When do you find time to work out between work and taking care of a little one?

Thanks Vanessa. I'll have to check out that website. I appreciate your suggestions, and congrats on losing nearly all of the weight. I gained about 40 lbs so I still have about 20 left to lose. Your an inspiration to me though, losing 15 lbs in only a couple of months!

I didn't start to workout until my son was 9 months old for the same reasons you mentioned. Then, I decided that I had to do something for ME! I registered to www.livestrong.com/myplate which helps me calculate my exact calorie intake, monitor what I eat and how much I workout. I come home, snuggle with my boy and "we" work out together. He plays in the living room and I do my videos. I try to do 5 days a week, but if I only do 3 then I'm happy. The website will help you stay under your total alloted calorie requirement for the day regardless of your fitness.

I cancelled my gym membership today and I am not feeling guilty at all. I have lost 15 pounds since January 3rd and I am still losing. I gained 50 with my son and lost 30 right away, but now I have to work for the rest. :)

Try going on a nice walk with your baby in the stroller or swim with them... we have to be creative. You can do it, just make a goal for yourself. Mine was that the weight has to be gone before he turned 1 and now I have 8 to go before April 7th.
