My oldest is Zoe Lynn my brother who passed away LOVED the name zoe and always said if he had a little girl that is what her name would be. Lynn is a family name my grandmother, mom, aunt, and me all have the same middle name. My baby is Emma Grace....I loved the name Emma and Grace is a family name. My hubby said that as long as their initials did not spell out anything wierd he was ok with whatever i picked. LOL

isn't it interesting...it seems to depend a lot on the relationship with your partner how it's picked...at least thats what I'm reading.. and was the same for me... with my first, i wanted a name unfortunatley hubby hated, so we compromised but we gave baby his name as a middle name, as family tradition. but when baby born, he looked like a 'david' and so I had to put it in too... it is his third name... now all my kids have had to have three names! The second , a girl was picked by me and the big brother! hubby not real interested. by the third child, another boy... I turned while in labour and said (I'm doing the pushing, I get to pick!)... and so got to use my favourite name (from the first baby) which was Gabriel. I still love it! by baby no four, i was going through a hard time after divorce,(could you see that coming??)...and decided I wanted the father to name his son,... that was a HUGE step for me, and he picked Jeremy, which was uncanny, as I was reading and getting huge comfort from the book of Jeremiah from the bible at that time, which he did not know as we did not live together. I asked if it could be Jeremiah and we decided to wait to see what the baby looked like... He was a Jeremiah, and subsequently his daddy and I married. we call him Jem. the 5th baby, we invented her name, 'Evienne' and typing it into a search engine got "did you mean Erienne?" which, meaning Ireland.. was perfect, coz I'm irish and we had honeymooned in Ireland and want to live there in retirement... as for last baby... we were so stumped.... but near the end of pregnancy were sitting in a movie theatre... and were waiting for all the credits (which we watch out of curtesy..) and both saw the same name at the same time... neither of us trying to look for a baby name by the way... and turned to each other spontaneously and said.. "Jonah- that's it!" at the same time.... we did not even change from there... it was so perfect... mind you I still like so many other names, we may have to have more kids to fit them!!! is'nt it funny how names are picked, and by whom... one last funny thing... when Jeremiah understood there was a baby coming, he said... "I'm Jeremiah, and that is Babymiah, so his sisters second name is now Miah.!

When I was pregrant with my last and loving baby son. I involved his sister and brother. I took them with me to the doctors office for ultasound, I asked the two of them to find a nanme for their for their baby brother. The two of them informed me if it is a boy, his name is going to be 'Jonathan' and if it is a girl her name is going to be 'Lisa'. I informed them he is a boy and that is how he got 'Jontathan'. His middle name came because his dad doesn't want him to be alive at birth, he looked at the sky two months before his delivery and informed me 'At least i was pregnant then, he would see how I will delivered him safely.' I asked God to help with his delivery and promised God As long As Jonathan and I live' He(Jonathan is for God) I choose his middle name 'Olaoluwa' which means 'Grace of God' that is what is keeping me and Jonathan alive.

We had tried to get pregnant for 3 years (tried 2 different fertility drugs and artificial insemination with no luck). Then my husband's grandmother passed away unexpectedly and we convcieved a day after her death. We call our baby a gift from her great grandmother whose name was Kay. So we knew right away when we found out it was girl that her middle name would be Kay, so we needed a name that went with it. Then I had a dream that my daughter's name was Carli Kay. I asked my husband if he liked it, and he said "yeah." Then I said, "Good cuz that's her name!" haha. However, he didn't like the spelling (all the women in his family have names that start with "K" so he insisted that Carli be spelled Karli, he argued that I got to pick the name so he gets to pick the spelling - I couldn't argue with that!!) So Karli Kay it is!! :)

Hubby picked my sons name as we said he would pick the boys an i the girls.

This time we have the girls name - hubby picked the first name and i picked the middle name.

If we have a boy this time round we have no idea on names.

My motto " I go through the pain, so I come up with the name." Kadien-Symone was the first name I thought of... and that was her name up til an hour after she was born. I remembered the name Danica meaning morning star... I put my own spin on the spelling, Dannika and there she was. Dannika. my second child was honoring women in my life, I liked ARI but again wanted to put a spin on it, and came up with Aralynn. Lynn being my mom's name.and there came Dannika and Aralynn

We both agreed to have 1 name that we liked as a first name and to use a family name as a middle name. My husband loved the name Riley for our daughter and so I picked Catherine after my gran as her middle name. After she was born we found out that my husband's great-granny's maiden name was O'Reilly so now she has 2 family names. When I got pregnant with our son I got to pick the 1st name. I wanted to pick a name which matched Riley's name and since I'm a fan of Mickey Rourke and it's such a unique name we went with Rourke as a 1st name. He was also named after my father in law (my husband & all 3 his brothers are all named after their dad) and my dad so he is: Rourke Douglas James (Tiger) cause that's his nick name and he adds it to his names when asked what his name is.

We're both Russian and needed a name that would sound good in Russian and English, so it was hard to come up with one. Plus I wanted a name that wasn't overused, so that our child would not be one of 4 Emily's at the playground. We named our first daughter Paulina, which is a beautiful name both in Russian and English. Our second daughter is named Zoya (Zoe in English). I came up with that name, it just felt right throughout the whole pregnancy. It did take some effort to convince my husband to name her that, he was not a fan of the letter Z :)

My sons name is Ryder. It was the first name (boy and girl) that my husband and I agreed on. His middle name Jason is in rememberance of my husbands friend who had passed away. He was a really close friend of my husband.

I picked the names that we could choose from, but it was definitely a couple agreement for her first name. Her middle name is all my decision as well as having a middle name and it's only because I had back labor for 33 hours. My DH felt really bad for all that I went through.

We did together!!! But, we originally had Hayden picked out. Fortunetly for us, a friend named their son that, so we pulled out the "back up name", Kaleb!!! It couldn't have worked out more perfectly.....he truly is a Kaleb (Kaleb with a "K" because his name looked like we picked it for its biblical reference, and I spell Erika with a "K").
Jesse is my brothers name, and Christopher is his father's brother's name....hence, Kaleb Jesse Christopher. And last but not least, Samson is his father's last name and Scheer was my maiden name. Which leaves us with:
KALEB JESSE CHRISTOPHER SAMSON-SCHEER....quite a mouthful!

Hi! well I'm from Greece and the tradition here says that the first child gets the name of the granddad/grandmom from the dads side, and the second child gets the name of the grandparents from the moms side. Stupid tradition but unfortunately we had to follow it, or else the grandparents get really pissed off and we have problems! :(

We decided together. I had most of the ideas but he helped put them together. Our daughter is Jamie Lynn. Lynn after my sister and Jamie because we liked it so well and it sounded great with Lynn. Our son is Evan Matthew. My grandma's maiden name is Evans and Matthew after my husband.

How about you?

it took us forever! We couldnt agree on anything! hah! but we knew our son's middle name would be James because that is a family name on my husband, James, father's side. The first name was tough for a while, but we decided on Alexander because that was my great-gma's last name.
