Both are at a very needy time in their lives. Attention, Attention, Attention. Good luck.

Lots of good sound advice. They do each have their own needs and those needs are different. Treat each one different but love them both the same. They will soon see Mom has enough room for the age differnences. I too have my eldest 16 years senior to my youngest and two others in between that are respectively 13 and 11 years senior to the youngest. It is hard for the 11 yr senior to adapt to not being the "baby" anymore. Hang in there they will grow up and appreiciate you!

Because each has their own special needs. A toddler still needs you but the teenager sometimes do not even though you want to be there. They sometimes push you away. Just continue loving them the same way and they will adapt and conform.
