I'm a fitness-minded mom of two toddlers and I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant. I work out for about 30 minutes every day, and lately I've been working out with Jillian Michaels' 30-day Shred video. When I found out I was pregnant, I made sure not to overstretch and I kept a watchful eye on my heart rate, but I'm realizing that the excessive jumping (jumping jacks, rope, and butt-kicks) and the traditional crunches on the floor will become harder and less safe as my belly grows.
I'd like to find a workout DVD that's geared toward pregnant women, but I have no interest in yoga whatsoever, which doesn't leave me many options. Also, a lot of reviews I've been reading on some other DVDs I've found have been negative - saying the moves are too easy, ineffective, etc.
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a more challenging pregnancy fitness DVD that I can workout at home with? Otherwise I'm afraid I'm going to have to keep up with Jillian's buff body throughout the next 34 weeks, modifying the crunches into planks and foregoing all the jumping around... it makes me pee!
Thanks ladies!!
