HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!! I hope 2008 was wonderful to everyone and that 2009 brings you all that you deserve.

Take the opportunity to really focus on what you'd like to achieve in 2009 by way of your health and fitness! If you write them down and make the commitment, the opportunity is endless. I am happy to help anyone work to achieve their fitness goals for the New Year!

I recognize how important it is to lead a healthy lifestyle, not only for yourself, but for your family as well. Set an example for your young, impressionable kids and pave the way to their healthier future. Be a leader, and others will follow and envy your passion.

If anyone is looking for help in getting a new program geared up for the new year - let me know! I've got some great suggestions and something for everyone!

Happiest of New Year's to all! Let's make 2009 about YOU!

Although it is already October, I read your message. I find it inspirational. A healthy lifestyle is lifelong process. I am currently trying to lose some fat and get stronger. I have been walking like 2 miles a day. I would love to be able to run, but I dont think that I can, or maybe i'm just not ready for that.I do want to be a positive influence for my two children.

I'm 45, so I feel I'm up against time and menopause soon! My short-term goal for this year is to be in the best shape of my life so that I can reach my long-term goal which is to be able to run the marathon and possibly get on a fitness magazine! haha

I love my sport and try to do something every day. Kungfu is Monday/Tuesdays/Fridays and I encourage all mums to give this a go, I started when I was 32 and LOVE it. Tennis Tuesday mornings.... took it up coz my kids play and it looked fun AND IS!! Netball Wednesdays/Thursdays.... been playing since I was 8 and only didn't play while pregnant. My goal for 2009 is to Grade for my 4th level in Kungfu. I'm determined to get there...... just wish I was more flexible, any suggestions??

my goal is to lose 100lbs by the end of december. i would like to join the military. but that isnt the only reason. i dont want my daughter to grow up thinking it is healthy to be overweight. i dont want to have diabetes and feel sick or have to moniter my blood when ni can be enjoying my little one. i work night shift and she doesnt take naps during the day so sleep and exercise get really difficult sometimes. needless to say even though i am struggling i have managed to lose 10lbs last month!

Great goals everyone! I hope we all are sticking to them!  As most of us are wanting to stick to some sort of fitness program, don't forget about your diet!!  It's key to success in losing weight, tightening up or just having the energy to exist through our busy days.

Beachbody has finally launched its "Healthiest Meal of the Day" - Shakeology.  I had the great fortunte to give it a try at the Coaches summit 2 weeks ago - and it's tastey! The best way to get all your greens, antioxidents, vitamins, minerals, you name it, it has it!  So much more affordable then purchasing all the 100's of supplements availalbe on the market these days.  Check it out for yourself: www.shakeology.com and send me an email to learn how you can get some for yourself.

I just want to hav emy energy back... I have been home on maternity leave the last three months and I feel like all I want to do is lie around with the baby.  this is my second c-section and I feel/look like I have a tire around my middle so i would like to do whatever I can to reduce this feeling/look and to be healthy.  I feel better when I am working out and I am able to focus more.  I am usually a morning person but with an infant in the house and sleep being precious it is difficult.  I go back to work next week and I fear that I will be making many choices between my exercise needs and my kids.  My husband is VERY supportive and once the little one is 4 months she can go to the daycare at the gym so that will make things easier.  I just went to my VERY first class yesterday at the gym, Zumba, and if I don't do anything else I plan on committing to go to one class each week.  I would like to go to the gym more often but I am ok with baby steps while getting used to the new family routine over the next few weeks.

My goal this year is to find some nice outdoor jogging routes to take my two goldendoodles on with me. We recently moved from Minnesota to North Carolina because of my husband's job, and I am still working on finding good jogging spots. Wish me luck!

I feel that I can't commit more to exercise than I already have at this time- but I want to take vitamins- daily. I usually get into February and can't seem to remember my "one a day"! This year I will stick to it!

Hi Taryn,

I am new to this and your posting made me decide to join this community. Last year I lost 35 pounds. It all started when I started a team for the Relay for Life in honor of my mom who has been fighting colon cancer. My sis in law really pushed each other. We were up to walking 6 miles atleast once a week and shorter distances the rest of the time. Along with doing Turbo Jam which I absolutely love. I will admit I'm not much for dieting but I did find myself eating better the more fit I got.

Unfortunately with winter and being in NY and SNOW I have become very blah and trying to get back into the swing of things again. I have gained back about 5 pounds and I need to get going again. I have started a little bit with getting the kids out sliding and we went to a winter fest yesterday and did some cross country skiing. My oldest is old enough to babysit her sisters so I can go to the gym but she likes going to so I can work around that a little. My goal now as it was last year I guess is to do some sort of workout everyday. So I guess I'm off and going again. Thanks and Wish me luck, lol!

Taryn-

I am new to the site. I am glad to see you mention a beachbody workout. I just purchased the 10 min trainer by tony Horton and cannot wait for it to arrive!

My goals are to work out consistently. I belong to the YMCA, and they have childcare. I have no excuse but to take care of myself now.

Thanks for the advice. It turns out my husband has P90X. I thought about starting the program with him but found out I was pregnant at the time. I think I will dust it off and try that program. My only concern is that some of the dvds are over one hour.

That's great Donnita! The first key to being successful in your fitness goals is making a commitment. Congratulations on your 4 month old! Aren't they just precious? Now as Mommie's, we have limited time to get a quality workout in...until I found P90X! This has been an awesome program for me to get back into BETTER shape in just 90 days! If you are looking for a great strength training and cardio workout that will guarantee you a rockin' body...you must check it out. YOu can peak at it through my website: www.choose2befit.com. Or message me and I'd be happy to help you get a program together. Cheers!

I haven't had a chance to really focus on my fitness goals but one thing I want to work on is making my workouts consistent and efficient. I am a new mom to a son that will be 4 months next week. Before baby, I was able to workout for 1 hour to 2 hours and feel great (long workout sessions followed by cardio and abs). Now, I can't dedicate that much time in a single chunk. My goal is to find some workouts that have strength training and cardio combined.
