I would like to know everyone's views and opinions on baby cereal in bottles? After hearing about it for the first time on COM I did some research and found out it was actually quite dangerous! After posting my findings in some communities I got some negative feedback and wanted to know your opinions as I was even told by one woman that ADULTS (meaning her) don't like the new generation (meaning me) because they created us into what we are (???) I have no clue what that was supposed to mean as she quickly went on to say that if we let our children eat dirt they will be healthier because they will build up a better immune system! Please tell me your opinions on this and why you feel the way you do about it?

Thanks. :)

I definetely believe in ghosts!! I don't really believe in heaven and hell but it's the what if? factor.

I did a ouiji board once with my mum, my hubby, (then b/f), my best freind and my sister and we spoke to my late grandad, my hubby n best friend had never met him, my sister was in tears and there was no way me or my mum was moving that glass! It was so lovely to know that my grandad was doing well and always been a guiness drinker (irish) he told us he was still enjoying it! (Not too sure how to interpret it though because my gradad was always super religous?! OMG! We also got spoken to by this mad ghost who said he knew me, actually spelt out LISAMARIE !!! I was his wife and I had killed him!!! The glass was actually flying round the board!!!! We were staying in a caravan on holiday and we were so freaked out we all slept in the livingroom!!! LOL

Ah right =] I don't really believe in heaven and hell but more that your spirit lives on, either as a ghost or just in the atmosphere around us. We'll never know what really happens because when you're dead you're dead. I've always had this strange thought that when you die do you then live as another person?

They are not christened yet, I was christened (church of england) but my parents are not religious, my step dad's mum is catholic so all of my younger siblings had to be.

I'm a bit on the fence on this one because I am not religious. But my mum thinks I should get them done because if there is a heaven or hell and they're not christened n anything happened they'd be stuck in limbo?! It kinda makes sense to me and when I really think about it it scares me but then I think are christians just there to scare people into their religion? I'm not sure. lol

Yeah I saw that thread and yes it did get heated. I made a comment and some other person said "Abortion isn't something to be ashamed of". Let's just say she must have the morals of a murderer or something! Yeah our friend James had a brother but he died when he was 12 years old as he had a long standing medical condition from birth - he couldn't walk, feed himself etc. This parents have been looking into fostering since James is 20 and they have a spare room in their home. I hope they get what they really want because they're such nice people - his mam made our wedding cake and his dad did the photography!!! They're like an extra mam and dad to us =] Did you have/getting Destiny/Tyler Christened? We've decided not to get Logan Christened. I was brought up and Christened Catholic and Steven's no religion. We'll rase him with the morals we have which are based on Christian teachings but we will allow him to choose a religion when he's older if he wishes to do so =] Loads of people keep asking us and we're like what is the point...we won't take them to church (I was taken to church every week), so really it would be a pointless expense in our eyes.

I agree with that, I personally, don't know if I could cope with a baby with DS but I would never have an abortion because of it and do not condone anyone who does. I was debating this in another community and it got a bit heated. In my opinion every life is precious and if you can't handle it then there is adoption, of course it's hard but it's suppiosed to be, it's not supposed to be easy and I hate the fact that people are glamourising it, someone actually tweeted her abortion on twitter saying "it's not that bad" !!! Not that bad??? She made it sound like a dentist appointment!!

Yes I'd say abortion is acceptable in the case where the baby or woman's life is at risk such as eptopic pregnancy etc. but I don't personally think it's right to abort because the baby may/will be born with a genetic disease such as Down's Syndrome. At my 20 week scan they found echogenic bowel which is a big marker for genetic diseases such as Down's Syndrome, Patau's Syndrome Cystic Fybrosis and Edward's Syndrome. Echogenic bowel is basically when the bowel is the same colour on the scan as the bone, and it's very rare - found on only 1% of scans and of that 1%, less than 1% will have one of those genetic diseases. I had the choice to have an amniocentesis and even though I knew I wouldn't abort either way we needed to know for definate. I had the amniocentesis and thankfully wasn't in the minority who miscarry. The results came back and they were negative. =] Other reasons for echogenic bowel can include infection or due to bleeding in early pregnancy - I had a small amount of bleeding at 11 weeks and they ruled this the cause. To me every child deserves the chance to live whether they'll have a condition like that or not. Some people can never have children or spend years of gruelling treatment trying to concieve.

I hate people like that...they'll be the ones to complain if they do fall pregnant...then again they're the most likely type to have an abortion anyways (I don't agree with abortion except in the case of rape).

i think implanon is what most nurses at the dr i go to are getting or have, the patch doesnt really work and the pill you have to be so precise with it,everyday same time or you get pregnant. i did hear bad things about the iud. i heard you bleed alot worse than depo and you get cramps or cramps may get worse. we just use condoms. its easy and since my body doesnt adjust too well to hormones in birth control its better. condoms have 1% less chance than depo. maybe 2%

I know what a contrast! The only connection is that baby's eat cereal, drink from bottles and baby's are made by having sex lol! Yes the only time we used condoms was when we first started having sex. We were both virgins and we both had a sexual health check regardless lol but wanted to make sure we wouldn't have a baby when we weren't ready to. Then we just decided not to - I agree they reduce the sensation! Plus they kept getting ripped by the various toys we have lmao! Actually we also used a condom the first time we had sex after having Logan - about 2 weeks afterwards. I wasn't getting my implant in until the next week so thought it was better to be on the safe side!!!

Lisamarie - posted on 03/23/2010

lmao! I know exactly what you mean tho! Sex should be fun and we shouldn't be worrying about pulling out or when and where we can have it, which by all accounts excludes most contraceptions! We stopped using condoms because it took the sensation away!

I love how we managed to get from talking about cereal in bottles to sex! lmao!

Jennifer - posted on 03/23/2010

The majority of people who use these methods are devout Roman Catholics who don't agree with using contraceptions such as condoms etc. because they actively stop a life being created and believe sex is mainly meant for procreation and not pleasure. I was brought up as a Roman Catholic but I don't believe in this just as I don't believe it's wrong to have sex before marriage! I think as long as you're in a loving relationship that's fine and also I don't think it's wrong to be gay. I think many Christians in general are mcuh more liberal these days and then there's those who aren't. Anyways it just tales the pleasure out of sex - I quite like the sensation of a pulsating man's part in my area lols...probably should have just said it properly...a penis in my vagina lols. Was trying to make it sound less sexual...silly I know lmao! Eee I crack myself up sometimes!

Yeah - it's known as the rhythm method here in the UK, also they also used to have sex but make sure the man withdrew before ejaculating...although this certainly isn't full-proof as semen tends to seep before ejaculation...lols I feel like I'm in a science lesson at school again hehe! Dunno how she can be bothered to do that lol!!!

Lisamarie - They inject some local anastethic which can sting a bit then when you're numb they make a small incision with a scalpel and insert it. I was fine with it but I don't mind needles or having blood taken - had to have 5 bottles of blood taken this morning lol!

Christin - Personally I really wouldn't use the 10 day rule - sperm can live for up to 5 days and women usually ovulate on day 14 of their cycle so if you had sex on day 10 you could get pregnant plus you can't know for sure when you will ovulate. Some women ovulate earlier, some later. And also most women ovulate on slightly different days each cycle. It's obviously you're choice but I'd strongly recommend trying a different form of contraception.

i was in the er because i keep bleeding bad, plus i had alot of issues from depo. but the ten day thing is where if your not using birth control you can have sex the first 10 days from the start of a period and 11-20 no sex and 21-the next 9 days you can.

Ah rite! We just want two mainly because Steven's one of four, whereas I was one of two and I was given so much more in childhood. We had family holidays abroad every year, my sister took dancing and piano lessons and I did gymnastics and various other things. I know holidays aren't evrything but my hubby has never had a family holiday ever. I suppose we just want to give as much as we can to two children which we couldn't do with four...plus I have this thing about wanting each child to have their own bedroom and there's no way we'd get a 5 bedroomed house if we had 4 children.

Good compromise though and hope if becomes a reality for yous =]

And hope the bleeding improves!!!

I have polycystic ovaries so know what you mean about the periods without contraception but that doesn't bother me, Since having the depo in december I've had constant periods with only a day or two spacing between. My blood flow is low so I'm tired all the time and with two young children it gets hard. Hopefully it will get better soon! :)

Yh thought about the implant but we plan on having another child in less than 3 yrs. I am terrible with the pill, even antibiotics I forget to take so would be pointless. I've heard different things about different contraception and I think they just affect people differently. My doc said it could last upto 6 months and should subside after that, I had a blood test for anemea (sp) but that was all clear but I think I will go see a specialist.

lisamarie-it is, i am one of those few that has adverse affects and theres a site on facebook its called avoid dep. i joined. theres lots of people. i have been in the er 2 times in 4 days. i have to go to a gyno to figure out why i am going thru what i am. they said theres a shot you can get to stop the bleeding and re balance out your systm. im not sure exactly about it, the dr just mentioned it. if your having problems definatly go to a gyno instead of a dr. they have to make sure my reproductive system didnt get anything, but so far theres nothing serious. i have heard implanon was ok as well or they have a hormone free copper iud but i have heard bad things about those to.

ya that bothers me. my husbands unable to work since he was in the military and was medically retired and now has alot of problems so they dont want him working and he gets a letter saying he should be finding a job! im like umm hello in case you havnt noticed he can't. im trying to go back to school but with my issues right now im probably going to wait. ever since i got depo i have had alot of problems, but i dont claim any govt help. tho i can because of my leg i dont. they asked but i said no. and they turn around and say the money supposed to be used on just our daughter is income, yes it is income but its used for her only, i cant use it on my medical or anything or we can get in trouble. they make me mad. we walked in and get treated like total crap, our case worker wouldnt even talk to us we had to see someone else, we got dirty looks and yet a ghetto person walks in with saggy pants and big chains and stuff and they just like cater to him. im like what? are you for real?

i remember seeing about that 500 idk how to make the euro sign but it popped up and i got exited thinking it was here lol but then it wasnt. when i got pregnant we were at rock bottom about to lose the apt, already lost a vehicle, had like no money, had to decide between food and electric half the time. theres times we lived off a quarter for a whole month and we got denied help. after my husband had to retire i got a job waitressing making a whole 97.00 every other week plus tips which went to gas to get back and forth and that was supposed to be enough.

we think she might be lactose. i became lactose when i was pregnant. we may switch her back to gentlease again since shes no longer colicy.

That's just so unfair! And yeah there's lots of people in the UK who work the system too. We had to save for our sons pram, cot etc. yet some drug dealers and basically people who won't get off their arse to work can claim a £500 sure start grant to pay for those sorts of things. I know people who were genuinely in need of it and were seeking work but it sickens me the number of people who can claim it who have no intention of getting a job.

thats pretty much how it is here, they do alot of illegal things. i was supposed to by law be covered for 3 months and they kicked me off at month 2 and didnt tell me so i went in and they treated us like crap. but yet they allow drug dealers to be on and just scam the system. you see people with fancy cars and brand name stuff that costs alot while their kids suffer. the only time i ever get new stuff and its not even brand name is on my birthday or holidays like christmas. or if i really need new stuff and we have a bit extra. they basically told us in a nice way the government is too cheap to get what she needs and she has to suffice with what they offer even if she cant have it. im like thats real great. we went to apply and we got called illegals and had to show proof of being legal even tho we had a license birth certificates and a ss card. then when we went to get our daughters meds we had a prescription from a dr. we got in a fight with the pharmacy because they said we are scamming the system and we are just trying to drug our daughter. im like what? yes im drugging my daughter with zantac are you serious. she has reflux moron. so that was a battle.

they did say she might have an allergic reaction, they just couldnt figure out to what. they siad whatever it is it isnt bad but if it continues they will try to figure out what it is.

I think most families where only one parent works is classed as a low income family =] Wish my milk actually had came in then we wouldn't have to fork out loads for formula! I had to look up WIC but understand what it is now =] I live in the UK you see. That's ridiculous that they don't even care what the doctor says! In the UK there's a scheme where pregnant women or families with children under 5 can claim vouchers to use on either cow's milk, formula milk, or fruit and veg. Sounds great but it's a bit unfair as to who can and can't claim, and we aren't eligible basically because my husband works over 20 hours and gets working tax credits as well as child tax credits so you know... I know this may sound kinda strange but could it be possible that she shakes her head when you were trying to feed her because perhaps she may have been allergic to something?

she refused to breast feed and we tried tons of formula, but since we have wic its limited. she needs no iron but they refuse to pay for it even with the dr saying so and it's so expensive and has to be ordered thru a pharmacy everytime she runs out, but nutramigin is the only thing she can digest. everything else either backed her up real bad or made her real gassy and sick
