10 week old fights daytime naps

My 10 week old daughter will not take daytime naps unless im holding her. She sleeps fine at night, but she gets so crabby in the late evening because she wont sleep during the day! i cant hold her all the time. I tried to just let her cry it out yesterday and she screamed for an hour straight until i finally couldnt take it. Today she is clingy-er than ever! How do I fix this?

You just need to find a trick that works for her. Try a swing. Rock her to sleep if you have to and put her down. Maybe try laying in bed with her. Go on her cues. When she is tired she will sleep. Shes new and so are you. patience and time. But please do not let your child cry it out. She is far too young! And an hour? Im not here to judge but please Google "the dangers of letting your child cry it out". So many people say "but it wont kill them" yes it could and it could cause other problems as well.

I highly recommend the book "On Becoming Baby Wise." My son hated daytime naps and then would end up becoming overtired and more fussy than ever, making it even more difficult to put him down for naps. This book really helped me get him on more of a routine and to start to expect naps during the day (without being nursed or rocked to sleep first.) As a plus, he also started sleeping through the night once I implemented this. He is 6 1/2 weeks old now.
