Does anyone have any suggestions on where to give a childs 1st B-Day party other than The Please Touch Museum?

We're having our twins first birthday party at hme with a BBQ. Makes planning easier and helps with the kids playing and sleeping habits

I agree 100%. But his father wants to go all out and have his party at chuck e cheese on the 31st of this month. Like one of my friend said he's not even going to remember what happened just take him to take pictures and get him a cake so close friend and fam can b there to enjoy it with him, but that's not what his father wants he's paying for it so i can't argue with that. And mind u my baby boy is a premie he's not even walking yet so what games is he going to play and he's going to b held through out the whole time.

I went all out for my first child's 1st B-Day, but my second child 1st B-day is in Jan. And I think your right Michelle, keeping it simple and with family only. I learned my lesson the first time, buying a lot of toys that my first child didn't play with..lol

Just have it with your family and your some of your very close friends because if you know that the child won't even remember only by the pictures that you took. I had my daughter first b-day party at my parents house. Just keep it small because the child might be scare of the big crowd and noise all around.

The 1st bday party is more for the parent then the kid!!! The most memorable part of this event is the child digging into the cake! So I would plan around that event!!! Be somewhere where you can get the kid cleaned up and taken care of with relative ease! And figure a nap may well play into the deal if you don't time it well. Kids that are older don't get much fun out of 1 yr old parties so limiting their attendance may be good, try to keep the group small...

My little man will be one in acouple of weeks. Im stuck for ideas as well.
I think we will do something with the family and a couple of close friends with kids his age. I dont think he'll remember it to go all out with jumping castles and pony rides. Although i do look forward to all that.

Definitely-- I had a friend who went all out-- Pirate themed party, with clowns in pirate suits and ships and activities... the whole nine yards. Her daughter left after 15 minutes and didn't come back the whole time, so no one really had fun because we were all there to see her!

When I did our first birthday party, I kept it very simple and intimate with family only. People have a tendency to try to go all out for the first birthday, but they forget that 12 month olds are still young and can't handle that much stimulation. You have to be careful with how much is going on at the party because you don't want the guest of honor to be screaming their head off because there's too many people or the clown freaked them out or something like that. I think it's best to have a quiet little dinner party for the first couple of years. Save the impressive stuff for when they're older and will remember it and their friends can all come.
