Just out of curiosity what did you do for your child's 1st birthday? Big party, small party, no party? And would u do it the same way again?

My son we had a semi big family party (about 30 people) and it was alot of fun! We kept it short about 2 hours and planned around his nap time. My daughter's 1st birthday is coming up in September and we are going a little bigger (about 50 people only bc my know more people now lol) we have a bigger yard now so we are renting a moon bounce for the older kids to play in. My daughter is very easy going so I know she will love it.

For my son's first birthday, I combined it with the 'family summer party' and had a huge picnic at the park (about 50 people were there). For his second birthday, I just had the grandparents, aunts, uncle, and a couple of friends over to the apartment and we had 'summer picnic food' and cupcakes. For my son's 3rd birthday (in a few weeks), we are doing a SpiderMan theme.

I'm glad to see this question. I'm having a dilemma about what to do for my daughters first birthday next month. I have a son and every year we have had a big party (at least 50 people) and have gone all out on the decor and preparations. My husband thinks that we shouldn't have any more big parties for our kids until its a significant year like the "16th". He said that if we have one every year then it will get harder and harder to top it. This is a touchy subject with me b/c I never had a b-day party when I was younger and I want my kids to have great memories of their b-days. I can't wait to see what other moms say.
