my son aiden is 2 monthes old and ever sense he was about a month or month in a half old hes been eating 6-8 oz every 3-4 hours. He sleeps very well at night (7-8 hours) at a time with out so much as a peep. when i took him to the doctor she said that hes a very healthy boy 14 pounds 12 oz at 2 monthes old and that i could put a little bit of rice in his formula, but he still eats every 3-4 hours. i dont want to over feed him but i only feed him on demand and that seems to be all the time

If you are formula feeding the food tends to stay in some babies bellies longer than others..and as it sits and goes through it stores up as fat..your babies body is just that way..nothing to worry about..Definatley do not feed rice cereal..its like swallowing a lead pancake to them..you know when you eat something and it makes you feel super sick and sits really heavy in their tummies..babies digestive tracts are not ready for anything but milk preferably until 6 months..their intestins are semi permeable and it can permanently damage their digestive tract..thats what happened to me and now I can not eat gluten dairy soy corn or eggs..if you are breastfeeding then it is just the way that your kiddo digests your breastmilk..when feeding a baby breastmilk vs formula you can not over feed them and it digests so easily on their tummies vs formula that they will eat alot frequently..nothing to worry about! a chunky baby WILL NOT lead to an overweight adult :)

He's 2 months, they do feed a lot and drink a fair bit. I don't see how any of this is a problem, except the bit about putting rice cereal in the milk. WHY?

my son AJ was like that from 2 weeks old he was up to 6oz every 2 hours, after eventually gettin him onto the hungrier baby milk with carabel thickener in it i was able to get his feeds down to 7oz every 4-5 hours n if he whinged in between feeds i gave him a dummy which seemed to do the trick wheereas my youngest has just turned 5 months n she still only drinks about 3oz at a time all just depends on the baby themselves

My son Aiden is 3 1/2 months and is the same way...i do put a scoop(the scoop that comes in the formula cans) in each bottle he has...my son eats now about 6ozs every 4-5 hours and i only feed him on demand and he also sleeps 7-8 hours at night so thankful for that lol he has been doing it since the day he turned 4 weeks old :)

he is probably just going thro a growth spurt--just go by what he wants if he finishes a full 6-8 ounce bottle without struggling i say give it to him. the ped will let u kno if they think he is getting over weight. just don't push it if he seems full then don't make him finish the bottle but if thats what he wants then i would give it to him. i started my now 18 month old on rice cereal in the a.m. for breakfast @ 3 months old & plan to do the same with the 1 i am currently prego with. Just go by ur lil man's cues:)

He probably is stocking up during the day if he is sleeping all night. If he is not getting overly fat, and developing normally and seems happy I do not think it is a problem. My son ate a 6 oz bottle every 3 hrs by 2-3 mos. He also had rice in the morning and rice at night or he just didnt seem satisfied. Try feeding the rice from a spoon. It may be messy at first, but it slows them down. Instead of them being able to chug it out of a bottle, they have to work a little harder. If it is a little thicker he may stay satisfied a little longer. Dont worry, they usually slow down on formula when they start getting more solids. Feel blessed that you have a healthy thriving kiddo :)

My boy was exactly the same. Had to stop breastfeeding because I couldn't keep up with him. Same on formula. At 3 1/2 months he was attempting to steal food out of my hands, so we put him on ceraels and the bottles FINALLY slowed down a little bit. By 4mths he was on solids. By 8mthshe was eating everything we ate. He's 18 mths now, and eats everything we eat without any issues. He's not allergic to anything. He feeds himself without much mess. And he's not a chubba anymore either (his face was perfectly round at 2-3mths). He's tall and skinny and still just as hungry as he was then.

Both my boys were the same way. Even after being fed baby cereal, they still ate 8oz bottles at 1 month. Now one is 7yrs. tall, skinny and still hungry all the time. The other is short, stalky and hungry all the time. I think it's a boy thing lol.

Some babies just eat a lot, there's nothing wrong with that. Don't worry about over feeding him; he won't eat more than he wants. Personally I would avoid the rice cereal at this point since he's eating his formula so well. The formula is way better for him compared to the rice cereal.

He started solids at 3 months, the i moved him to jar food at 4 months at the advice of my dr. Hes now 10 months old, been eating EVERYTHING we eats since 7 months, just in his size pieces
