My son hated being on his stomach, still does, but he started crawling at 5months, so dont worry. i always kept trying and would lie down and put him on my tummy which he preferred.

My daughter (now 10 months old) hated tummy time up until about a month an a half ago. She would get so upset at me. So I just never forced her to be on her belly for more than a few minutes. She's now perfectly fine, crawling around everywhere. I wouldn't force tummy time too much. I didn't. And my LO is perfect. I'm sure yours is too!

My son hated it too, and I felt bad cause he would cry into his blankie and I thought he felt like he was being smothered... I started playing music for him during Tummy time, hes always loved The Beatles... so I would put him on his tummy turn on some Beatles and lay down on my tummy across from himand sing, he loved it.

my son just turned 5 months.. he HATES tummy time still to this day. He just started rolling over from tummy to back, but he has only done it a few times. I really want him to learn to roll from back to belly but I don't think he is going to. I try encouraging him and get down on the floor with him so we are eye level.. and he still screeeeams at me. I don't know what to do anymore :(

Oh gosh no! Meghan, my son is 9 months old now and he absolutely hated tummy time too! I was worried to but I don't think it hurt him in anyway..The only thing I am worried about now is that he still isn't crawling but I have also heard that crawling shouldn't be a milestone anymore because we are told to put the babies on their backs for sleep now..Also, that is another reason why my son didn't like it because I listened to the doctors and put him on his back for sleep so, the only thing that it MAY slow down is crawling but my son is almost walking, lol, I hope I have helped!!

no your not.. my 3 month old knows how to hold his head up but he hates tummy time he screms everytime and so all that i have been told to do is make sure he has at least a total of 30 minutes tummy time through out the hole day.. so i let him do tummy time off and on all day till he starts to scream and when he just starts screaming to begin with i just let him cry for a few minutes and then pick him up and cuddle with him till hes happy again and then i just let him do what ever till about 2 or 3 hours then we try again.. and keep doing it over and over and sooner or later he will love tummy time when he finally learns how to roll himself over and everything..
hope this helps..

not by a long shot! i don't know many babies who like it so do it for shorter periods more often...and try buyiing one of those toys that they can prop up on to get off the tummy a bit but achieve the exercise of tummy time, ie a boppy or something like that...all the best

my son was the exact same way. i literally had to leave him on the floor even if he started screaming...but now at ten months old he loves to play on his tummy he rolls over tries to crawl and plays with his toys...sometimes the most loving thing to do is to force them to do something they don't want to and let them cry

My daughter is 4 months old, and she didn't like tummy time either, she enjoys it now!! She learned how to roll over off her tummy too, so when she doesn't want to be in that position anymore she's just roll over!! Give it time, I'm sure he'll be fine!! I was worried at first too!!

My son also hated tummy time and is now crawling all over the house. He is 8.5 months old now and started crawling when he was about 7 months. I never thought he would crawl. I thought he would skip it. So don;t worry! It's fairly common according to my doctor. The one thing I would say to be careful of is that if your child is always tilting their head to the same side, then talk to your doctor. My son always had his head to the left and one side started to get flat. He is wearing a helmet temporarily to correct it, but the doctor said there is something you can use that prevents the flattening if you catch it early.

I don't know of many kids that age that do like tummy time! lol. It's very common and you shouldn't worry about it. My son used to fuss every time I stuck him on the floor but he got over it after a few months and started crawling by 7 months, I do believe.

My daughter HATED tummy time also, but she rolled right before 4 months and crawled right before 8. He'll be fine. He'll enjoy it more once he figured out that being on his tummy has a purpose.

no worries. :) when your son/daughter is ready to crawl, they'll do it. some kids do crawl early, but some don't. it's all considered normal. my twins crawled.... around 10 mos? i think. my nephew crawled at almost a year old. that was a month or so ago, and he's already working on walking. :)
so just give it time, and see what happens. encourage the tummy time, of course, but don't stress over it. :)
