My3 week old son has colic and this morning I noticed that when he cried he sounded hoarse. I took his temp and its 98.7, and has been all day, so I dont think he is sick.
any ideas on what it could be?? or what I can do to help the little one?

That happened to my son also at about the same age. It was due to his crying actually whenever he cried a lot he got horse. It's nothing and it will go away. My little one would have these fits and right after that's what would happen but don't worry he is just doing it to himself unfortunately. It will get better. Good luck!

my daughter cried a lot and got a raspy cry. i took her to the dr just in case and they said it was probably from the crying or from formula/breastmilk going down the wrong pipe. she was about a month old at that time. i took her to the dr just in case it was something else. when i called them they told me to bring her in to be safe since she was so little. she still has a raspiness to her voice which i think was from her crying a lot and now she sounds so cute. i'd call ur dr just to be safe.

try putting a warm wash cloth on his neck, that might help with it. he might have a sore throat from crying a lot. as for the temp. as long as its below 99.0 i believe he should be fine. if he starts having diarrhea u should take him to see ur ped. or if he refuses to eat. i hope this helps you.
