i will be 33 weeks pregnant on tuesday and i have been feeling crappy for weeks now. and was recently told i had BV (bacterial vaginosis) but that is now gone. i was having painful contractions the other day and went to labor and delivery to get checked out. i wasnt dialated but was told i was 50% effaced. the contractions stopped and i was told to take it easy (which is hard to do since i have an almost 2 year old). the doctor said that the cramping could be what was causing me to efface but also could be because this is my second pregnancy. im still having bad cramping and nothing seems to help. im drinking plenty of water. i have a good amout of discharge and a lot of pressure in my thighs. my next appointment isnt until august 31st and my doctor is on vacation and i dont want to be annoying to the docotors and to my family that would have to watch my 2 year old (which they dont mind at all i just feel bad that they would have to watch her at night and it might be nothing) does anyone have any advise what i should do? or had a similar situation?

It never hurts to get checked out especially if you are 50% efaced! I went into pre term labor at 30 weeks...I had no clue I was even going into labor because I was cramping but they felt just like period cramps nothing too bad. I got to the hospital and I was dialated to a 3 and 60% efaced, they managed to stop my labor and I didnt have my daughter until 5 weeks later thanks to the bed rest, shots, and medicine.

If you feel that its bad enough to ask advice about, then I'd call a Doctor and just tell them your concerns. If anything, you could get an earlier appt. and get checked out just to be on the safe side. You can never be too careful when it comes to your and your baby's safety!
