It is awesome! You get to see who's facial features they are going to have. As soon as I saw my baby boy smile and his little nose I could tell he was going to look like my husband. Worth every penny!!!!

i got the 3d done, it was part of the regular visit, insurance paid for it. It was awesome to lay there and actually see my daughter move around, move her lips, even rub her nose. Totally worth it!

I opted not to...they actually for whatever reason creep me out a bit. Plus, I figured I was already finding out the sex no need to see what the baby looked like quite yet. And I just love the side profiles of the regular ultrasound photos, they are the cutest ever! Don't get me wrong, I get why people like em, they just weren't for me. Good luck figuring it out.

The place closest to us had a sale going on so we were able to get 2 done. This was my Mom's first grandchild so she paid for half of it.

The first one was around 27 weeks, the next one at around 32 weeks.

It was amazing. We saw her smile, gnaw on her hand - so many things and it was such a clear picture. I felt myself connecting with my child on an entirely new level.

Our 20 week ultrasound did not provide any profile picture of her face. She had her head turned towards my back so this was the first time I was able to see the shape of her face - and in much greater detail!

We received around 100 pictures with each ultrasound and a DVD of each session.

Totally worth it!

I was high risk with my now almost 6 month old daughter. I have about 35 to 40 3d and about 10 4d ultrasound pics that my ob did. It's amazing how you can see all the babies features. I knew almost exactly what my daughter was going to look like before I had her.

I had one done. I wanted to get a glimpse at my baby and find out the sex. I loved it and am really glad that we did. We just went with a basic package so we spend $100 tops because the packages gave us some color pics and all the shots on a CD.

I had a 3d ultrasound with both my babies. And I didn't have to pay a cent for it. Our insurance covered it. You may want to look into that... We loved it and it was such an amazing experiance, and I love the pictures and dvd's that we got from getting it done.

we got one done and my son looked identical to the 3d ultrasound picture we got. It was well worth the money, really not that expensive. I used the pic as my focal point during labor it reallly helped me out to see his face. Now it does take the bb cooperating but usually the place will let u reschedule if they dont get u a good profile pic. good luck :)

We had it done with our second and it was definitely worth the money. It was my birthday gift and a great one it was! I was so excited! We did find out the sex, but we didn't have to. I got over 100 pictures and the whole the thing on DVD. It was so amazing after he was born to look at the pictures and see how much he looked like his ultrasound photos. I loved being able to look at his picture before he was born...and our first son really liked to look at the picture of the baby. My friend's son was 5 and he said he thought the baby looked "dirty"! It was so cute!

Just to make it clear, 3D is photos and 4D is video...that's what our tech told us.

Hopefully you wont have to go but If u do have to go to the ER for a mild "complication" most hospitals have up graded their technology and they do 3d ultrasounds majority of the time all you have to do is ask for a copy of the pics and usually the xray tech would be more than happy to give them to you.

I did not do it with my first (16 months old.) I did have it done with this pregnancy. It was so worth the money! I got 8 color pics, 4 black and white, a CD with all 53 images captured and a DVD of all the movement. Plus free gifts and discount packages for spas and stuff! It was wonderful to see that my 2nd daughter had soo many similar characteristics as my 1st daughter!

yes! me and my husband luved it!!! the 3D pics actually looked just like how he looked when he was born. i def recommend getting it done. the only bad thing is that my girl friend had a 3D ultrasound done and her baby girl wouldn't turn her head in the direction of the ultrasound so she paid all that money for nothing. it was worth it for me though!! :-)

No. 3D ultrasounds are expensive and I also wanted the sex of the baby to be a surprise so if I would've accidentally seen a body part I think I would've been disappointed that it wasn't going to be a surprise at birth anymore. I have friends who have had them done and they all paid $300+.

Good morning I got a 4D ultrasound and boy was i super excited and yes it was worth every dime. I have had complications with my previous pregnancy's and I guess I wanted peace of mind that my son was okay and boy was he. It`s always a surprise when you first meet your son for the every first time when he arrives. Good luck!

I got it done recently and it was fantastic for $300 you get a 15 min dvd as well as photos of all sizes etc. Mine turned out really well with my baby sucking its thumb and waving etc. my cousin on the other hand had it done at a later stage and it didnt turn out as clear. it all depends on the situation of your child and how far into your pregnancy you are. generally id say its worth it and the best time i think to have it done would be at 28 weeks gestation and you usually have to book it a month in advance :-)

I got mine done as a gift from my co workers its amazing to see the really see the activity and the features....unfortunately my daughter kept her hand over her face and her butt towards us so we really didn't get to see what she looked like but I knew she was going to be something else because of the time we had trying to get to see her.....it was fun though

I had one done since my insurance at the time covered it. It was amazing to see my sons face. But if the insurance didn't pay for it, then I would just wait because you can use the money for more baby things!

I had one done in 2007 for my daughter. It was amazing to see her face, nose and lips. We knew who she looked like since I was 5 months. Plus daddy was extremly exited to know his first girl is the splitting image of him.

With my only child i had wanted to get one done, the cost of it being nearly $200.00 I never paid to have it done. But the last dr appt i had i was told i was going to be induced, my DR wanted to do a last ultrasound on me to see if my son was breech or not and she done the ultrasound in 3d and let me keep the pics she printed off in 3d for free!!! yay she told me when we were getting ready to leave the room she told me to put em away!! I was so so glad:)

3d ultrasounds are great.. truly one of the most beautiful things besides actually given birth. I did it with my 2nd son and again with the 3rd. To see your child's actual features before he/she is born is amazing. My son Maurice looks just like he did in his sonogram. I would advice anyone who can afford it to do it, because it is well worth the money.

I had one done at 29 weeks. I am very impatient for surprises and I wanted to see what my little girl was getting up to in there. I went with my partner and it was just thee most amazing thing to see. To think all we saw was going on in my tummy and we didn't know - she was yawning and smiling, playing with her cord and covering up her face, made us feel like we'd started bonding with her before she was even here. Expensive but magical =0) xx

I had one done with both of my youngest children when I was pregnant with them. I have to say they are awesome!! As far as paying for them, I'm not sure. I got lucky with my 3 year old the ultrasound tech had just learned recently how to do it and wanted to play around with it if it was ok with me. With my youngest my insurance paid for anything and everything done during the pregnancy after I paid the first $12 copay for first doctor visit. I'd say if you have to pay for it out of pocket and you have the money go for it! The baby's features are so much more defined I pretty much knew exactly what the baby would look like months before they were born.

I did a 3-D ultra sound then my doctor did one in the office which I wasn't expecting and it was so much better than the one I paid $100's for. I mean it was cool to have the pics but check with your doctors office first to see if they offer it the doctor will prob get a better picture and be able to explain things to you, since the outside people who perform them have no requirements to do them.

I got one with my last child because they got new ultrasound machines and asked me if they could try it out on me. I did but I don't really understand what the big deal is. I could tell that my children had some of my features just by a regular ultrasound. To me it didn't matter but it is ultimatley up to you! Good Luck!

We got one because she will be the only child we have together-its really neat seeing the babies in such a different way, other than black and white, and they do come out almost exactly the way they look in the 3D pics but otherwise we haven't done much with it. Ours was only $150 though.

we got one done. my baby was shy and so we didn't get many pics, but the u/s tech had mercy on us and at the next u/s took a couple of extra 3d pics. the one of his face is AMAZING.

talk with your provider to find out if it's worth it. my provider only took pics while there's another provider in our town that does a video with pics and they give you a book and some other stuff. THAT would be worth it.

I got one done when I was pregnant with my, now 4 year old, daughter. There are places that actually do them all of the time. We had still pictures taken and sometimes they even do a video. I enjoyed watching her move around in there and getting to see her features better. I really wished I would have done it with my son cuz I thought it was well worth what we paid for.

I'll be getting one in 4 weeks. I lucked out and don't need to pay for it because the hospital I go to only has 3D/4D machines so when we go in for the 20 week ultrasound we will get it!

I was seriously thinking about getting one done, If you want one, try talking to your dr to see if any clinics near you offer it that would allow you to have it for a reduced price?

We are not rich, so we save up little by little. When my daughter gets older i can show her that video, and i have a precious memory of when i was pregnant.

So I dont know how pricey they are. Was really great to have a 3d shot though.
