2 days ago my 8 month old daughter fell off the couch, the couch is only a foot and 1/2 from the ground so it's not that high. She seems fine. She eats like normal plays like normal but when we move her a certain way she whines. and she doesn't seem to want to put weight on her left foot. She also has slowed down her army crawl she's been starting to do before the accident. Should i be worried? Will this slow down her crawling? Could her leg just be bruised?

i already had her checked out and the doctor said she seemed fine and to give her motrin and see if she got better the next day. She didn't cry as much the next day and seemed okay. She's just moving slow and that's what worried me I guess.

You're obviously worried about it....take her to the doc. My friend 's kid fell off the coffee table, she thought it was "just a bruise", turned out she fractured her elbow.

If it's a whine and not a cry, it's most likely a bruised or strained muscle. As for the crawl, she'll most likely be more cautious and slow until she realizes that it doesn't hurt any more. Get her checked out if you're worried, but kids are very resiliant and made to take a fall well.

I think you would def. know if something was wrong, most likely a small bruise or she would let you know if it was more. Just keep an eye out and if it doesn't improve or get better it wouldn't hurt for her to get checked out!
