My little girl has not started crawling yet. We put everything just out of arms reach but all she does is wine and get frusturated. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you all for the comments and comforts! She is getting up on her knees and rocking back and forth now so I think she is on her way! She does love to stand and hold on to things though so who knows! Thank you all again very much!

Babies go at their own paces. Your daughter might skip crawling all together and walk.

No worries!! As long as she rolls to get things she wants, she is doing just fine. Our son didn't crawl until he was 10 1/2 months and didn't walk until he was 16months. He was just very content. My friend has a one year old that still isn't crawling. As long as your baby has good muscle tone I wouldn't worry! Once they are mobile, you will be on the go! Enjoy this time:)

My mom told me I never crawled a day in my life. She said I just wouldn't do it so when I was able to sit up by myself I scooted across the floor on my butt!! Lol. I wouldn't worry about it. All babies are different with the time frames!

Give it time, one day she will all of a sudden start getting around. My son didn't crawl in the traditional sense until about 4 mos AFTER he learned to walk. He was a butt scooter. It was the funniest thing to watch him get around scooting on his butt. He is now 2 and still doesn't like to crawl on his knees with his toys...he'd rather scoot on his butt while pushing his cars around.

I was worried about that too but was told that sometimes they skip crawling. My daughter is 8 and a half months and she hates being on her tummy too long. A week or so ago she just started scooting around on her bum instead. She gets around very fast now!

I wouldn't worry about it. Alot of times babies skip crawling all together. Make sure she gets plenty of belly time so she's comfortable in that position and then just let her develope on her own. Good luck.

My son didn't crawl until he was 10 months, then quickly went to walking just after his first birthday. I wouldn't worry as long as the pediatrician thinks she is reaching all her other milestones. Sometimes they focus on another area and not crawling.

I wouldn't worry, she'll get there. My son only army crawled until he was 11-12 months (so for about a month now). I suspect he'll walk a little later but hey, that's fine with me!

I read in my baby development book that many children are skipping crawling these days with the invention of such great walkers, exersaucers, bouncers, etc. Some babies also don't crawl in a traditional position, there are actually 8 different crawling tactics! Slithering on their stomach, rolling, crawling with just their hands and feet touching (and behind in the air), etc. Maybe you can help her discover another way to get around, like rolling over and over.
Don't worry, each baby is different, and typically if this is your first child they won't crawl or walk until later because they are so used to getting carried everywhere :)
