Today he keeps turning his head and shaking it and closing his mouth tight whenever I try to give him jar food, and the only thing he actually wants is table food like puffs or cheerios. Does this mean he's tired of pureed stuff? Or maybe his 2 teeth coming in are making him not want it at the moment? Thoughts??

Could be the teeth. Or it could be time to give him small pieces of real food. Try giving him very small pieces of whatever you eat, within reason of course.

Yeah my daughter is all most a year now, but I guess it all depends on the baby. But good luck. :)

I'm having the oppositte problem (bubs not wanting fingerfood except bread)... It can be quite stressful. I could imagine he would remain on soft food longer than 8months, but teeth-probs could be a very possible answer. Ppl have suggested that I just keep persisting, so I'd prob suggest the same. It can be good to keep them on puree so they are getting enough, as well as finger food (not always so fast at eating that)... But Hope it sorts out soon!

What I did with my daughter, was that I would put the baby food with some baby rice, but if they don't want that, then what I did was try some baby yogurt. I mean if they can swallow good, then maybe try them on some hamburger helper sauce and meat. I mean it is only what you are comfortable as a parent to try.
