The rocking motion she is doing is totally normal. My dauther did this also. She was working on her strength, muscle building and balance. It is normal, and almost to be expected in a young child learning to crawl or walk. It is a way of them discovering how to make bdy parts move. However, if she does it for an extended period of time (after walking and crawling for a while) it may lead to hip problems in the future.

My daughter did the same thing. Don't stress 2 much about it as she will grow out of it. I think it is just a phase they go through. Once she starts walking u won't have 2 worry about the blunt comments that u get. Your daughter will not be a sex addict when she grows up. I hope this will help u in a way.

my daughter did that too, and she crawled soon after. your "friends" probably dont have children

During my undergrad study I spent many semesters with infants and toddlers. Many of them do this for balance and strength, just like everyone else has said, but also the older ones (who already have learned to crawl) seem to do this for no other reason than to play and have fun. So just sit back and relax shes right on track =)

I agree with everyone elses posts about it being a normal "crawling" thing. But I also saw older kids at the daycare that i worked at for several years "hump". One boy 3 or 4 years old, would to this on his cot everyday, before he fell asleep. Another little girl would "tap" her privates over and over with her palm for about 10 minutes until she fell asleep. Our director was concerned and talked to a pediatritian who said that this behavior was fairly common. The parents of both of these children had also talked to their doctors who said that it was "normal"
So either way, if it is her beginner crawl thing, or the other one, it is not anything to worry about! Dont let anyone else's opinions about it bother you!

i wouldn't listen to nasty comments like that. your 'friends' are not being blunt-they are being hurtful. joking about any addiction isn't right!!! especially a sex addiction and an infant. your little one is FINE! and she will outgrow this developmental stage before you know it as for your 'friends'......................hmmmm............

People are sick in the head!!! My second son did that when he was crawling..... It's very normal. That makes me sad that your friends suggest such a silly thing. You have NOTHING to worry about.

my son did it too. trust me she is fine. and honestly do your blunt friends have kids? cause if they did they would agree with all of us. most kids do it.

It is very natural for children that are learning to crawl/walk to do! All of these moms couldn't be wrong! My children even did it while crawling.

BUT! If this continues well after (few years or so) she has learned to walk I would talk to your pediatrician about it. I have a cousin who is 11 now and she still "rocks". My aunt was warned early on that her hips would cave in. Five years later she is being screened and highly considered for hip surgery.

Don't worry. I have 4 kids and every single one of them did that when they were learning to crawl, or soon after they learned. I think most babies do that when they try and crawl.

I would be blunt right back with my friends if they said something like that. She is just taking her time and it is normal to do this motion. You should really talk to your pediatrition if your worried though. I think as long as she is hitting all of her other developmental milestones that there is nothing to worry about. My son did this when he was learning how to crawl. I think it's just a way of getting balance and getting up the movement to start crawling. It does look silly but it is in no way sexual. She will be all over the place in no time and this motion will stop soon.

She is in no way destined to be a sex addict, rather she is working on her balance, coordination and strength. I don't know how much I would listen to that is coming form these "blunt friends", but I would consider spending less time with them. If not for your sanity, for the sake of your beautiful little girl, who will soon be picking up words faster than you can tell your friends not to say them.
