my baby will be 6 months in a few days... she use to sleep thru the night when she was 2months until the past week. She gets up every 2 1/2 hours and sometimes stays up for 30minutes then falls back asleep then 2 1/2 hrs later does the same thing. She doesnt eat most of the times she wakes up. She rubs her eyes like she is tired but wont sleep.

She is getting her two bottom front teeth. The top of one is all the way thru the gum and the other one is almost thru. i figured this could be one reason why she isnt sleeping but not sure and dont want to give her medicine if thats not the problem. Shes never cried or been fussy over anything..even teething so far. What do you think it could be? and if i should use medicine what kind ?

For those who's babies sleep thru the night (around this age) what "food/sleep" schedule are you on? she gets up around 8am sleeps around 1-3 every day then usually takes a 30 min nap around 6 pm then usually goes to bed around 9pm but then begins to wake up every few hours. I give her rice or a little bit of baby food around lunch. then formula the rest of the time she is hungry. should i switch the time i feed her that to help sleep at night?

please help! im getting exhausted over constantly waking up so much during the night!!!!

It could be teething, but it could also be a growth spurt. My doctor told me that when the baby's sleep pattern changes, its likely it's a growth spurt. My son is finally getting back to a normal sleep pattern after a month or so...(he's 4 and a half months now)

my daughter is doing the same thing. she has four teeth, and two more coming threw, at 8 months. she has done this every time she has a tooth, usually if its more than one coming threw at a time though. so i would bet thats what it is.

My daughter stopped sleeping through the night RIGHT at 6 months. She too started sleeping through the night when she was just weeks old. I never figured out why she was waking up but thankfully it passed. It may very well be teething. I gave my daughter Hylands Teething tablets and they worked like a charm when she was teething.

Even if she ate a full bottle and had cereal in and/or ate baby food, she would STILL Wake up. Her doctor said that it was normal and that she would get into her routine again. I am with you...it was the WORST having to come to work on NO sleep!!!!! Hang in there...it does get better!

my son is 5 months and is thankfully sleeping through the night since he is 5 weeks. He seems to be bothered by teething and when I feel that his pain is unbearable, I give him one dropper of infants tylenol (the generic brand). That seems to help him. But I strongly feel that the key of sleeping through the night is putting oatmeal in the last bottle before bedtime. That is what got him to sleep through since 5wks old, I can swear by it. I never did it with my first because i was nervous and she only started sleeping through the night at 13 months!!! With my secone (the 5month old) i was dying for sleep so I tried it and it worked.

I give him a bath around 8-30 9:00 and give an 8 oz bottle with formula and 1 1/2 teaspoons of oatmeal and he is usually sleeping by 9:30 10:00. (you will need to use a nipple with a bigger hole so the oatmeal can pass. I use tommee tippee the natural flow nipple.

He doesn't wake up again until around 6-7am and he drinks 8 oz of formula only and takes another nap for about an hour. About three to four hours later, i give him oatmeal in a bowl with pears or whichever fruit he likes and a 4 oz bottle of formula. Then every bottle after that (usually every 3-4 hours) is straight formula until bedtime.

But this week I will be introducing veggies so he will be eating veggies around lunch/dinner time but i am still going to stick with the oatmeal at night.

Hope this helps!
