I am just wondering, If I should be showing more or what is normal for 26weeks. I am pregnant with my first.
I was at my family house this weekend and my Mom and Auntie, were both going on about ow i wasnt showing and my stomach should be out WAY more. It kinda worried me, my best friend is pregnant as well and 1 week behind me and has "looked" preg/been showing for like a month and a half. I do have wide hips (structurally) and a kinda long torso, does that mean i could just be carrying well? I am putting on weight, feel healthy and like everything is fine, am eating small meals often, and LOTS of fruit and veggies, trying to stay away froom to many sweets. I just dont kno, I am getting a kinda fat looking belly but mostly i just look like im gettting fat, not really pregnant yet...So if anyone has any advice or feedback I would appriciate it Thanks ladies.

Don't worry unless the doctor tells you it is a problem. With the first child your muscles are still very tight, though some women never get as big as others. I was huge but I know others who were not and they had big, healthy children.

Girl that was me too when i was pregnant with my son. I didn't start showing really until i was about 6 months. Aslong as your doctor isn't concerned and your gaining weight and the baby's healthy than your good. Basically every woman shows differently but no worries you will EVENTUALLY show and once it starts to happen your not going to stop.. basically you might just have a deep pelvis or something (i think thats what the doctor called it) so he/she is really really in you lol...

Don't worry..i didn't start showing at all till i was 30 weeks.. and some women dont show at all... i'm now 33 weeks pregnant and people just started noticing that i am pregnant... its not uncommon for women to not show... the worst thing you could do is stress about it ..

Everyone shows differently, some more than others sooner. As long as you are eating healthy and not starving yourself and your doctor isn't concerned don't worry about it. I wasn't visibly pregnant until about 28-30 wks and then i got really big really fast. Having a long torso and wider hips could make a different.

i didn't even really show wen i was full term, i've got a slim but tall frame which is apparently why i was considered undersized but i was told not to worry, and people only really noticed if i actually stuck my belly out! lol

I am the same as you...tall, long torso, and wider hips. I didn't actually have a "belly" until I was 5 1/2 almost 6 months pregnant!! I started a new job at 4 1/2 months pg and no one knew I was pg! I am almost 39 weeks now, but I still don't look like it. I have also only gained 24lbs so far!! But that just means that after I have this baby, it will be easier to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight! And remember that every women and every pregnancy is different!!

I was like this. I really didn't look pregnant until about 8 months. If your doctor hasn't said anything don't worry about it. As long as you're gaining a little bit of weight ( I had only gained 10lbs at 7months) and feeling the baby move you're doing just fine. Hang in there

Hey hun, Bumps cme in all shapes and sizes as do people!!! I have had three babies and carried differently on all of them, and was so sick and tired of the oh dont you look big/small' you must be carrying a boy/girl....its all a load of nonsense, and just adds to the stress of an already vuberable pregnant woman. People should just be telling you how fantastic you look, as you prob do at 26weeks...pregnancy is an amazing time, dont let anyone spoil it for you. Like you said, you feel healthy and are gaining weight, so try not to worry, your midwife would be on the case if she thought there were any probs. If you are genuinely concerned re babies growth contact ur local unit, or babybond do resonably priced growth scans. Is ur fundal height within two cms of ur gestation (up or down) cos thats all the meds are interested in! Think yourself lucky that you are carrying so neatly, and keep a watch on howthat tum of urs grows in the last few weeks, cos believe me it will. Have a happy health preg&if you need a chat at any time feel free to contact me! Good luck x

i was the same, every time i went to the dr they sent me for an ultrasound cause they thought i was to small and every time the ultrasound showed my little man was bang on average. I was small to start with about 48kg, size 6 australian sizes and finished up at about a size 14 and 65kg. My boy was about 3 and a half kilo's when he was born and perfectly healthy.

Don't worry someone said the same thing when I am pregnant. Got me a bit worry for a while even when I checked with the doctor when I am 5 months pregnant, he was shocked cos he said my stomach looked small for 5 months. As long all the checkup is fine and healthy u have nothing to worried. Each and evryone is different. And no two person is same so just be healthy and not putting too much weight. Or else it will be hard for u to lose it after giving birth. Follow the gynae advice.

I am 5foot8 and with my first child (a boy) I only found out I was pregnant at almost 5 months, I was hardly showing, just felt a bit bloated. he is now a healthy, highly intelligent 4 year old. With my 2nd, a girl, I was much bigger. I wouldn't stress, the shorter you are the more you show as there is less room for the baby, hence why a lot of smaller woman get caesers. If you feel good, the baby will feel good. PS: What I learnt from my first pregnancy was NEVER EVER listen to other people's negative comments when you are pregnant it doesnt help anyone, I am sure that your Mom and Aunt love you very much but with all the hormones going around it just serves to stress you out for no reason.

Dont worry, just like how every woman is different so is every pregnancy. I started to show when I was only 2 months, and I have friends who were a lot thinner than me before they became pregnant who hardly showed at all even up to the day before the baby came. Your baby could just be sitting way back, some sit more to the front and some are even more side to side. I can understand how it could be a little depressing becasue when you think about being pregnant you can imagine the big belly, but unless your doctor says there is something to worry about, you are fine! Hope that you have a great pregnancy and that this might help!

Oh bother! lol I went through the EXACT same thing! People kept saying oh your so tiny. or oh is your baby ok your barely showing. lol be glad you got a tiny belly! as long as your ob says your baby is fine then everything is ok...at 5 months preggo i was only 118 pounds...at 9 months i maxed out at around 147-150. so it all depends on the woman and your body. but dont stress!

I did not start showing till 8 and half months, lost weight the whole pregnancy up to that point, and the doctor said it was fine b/c my daughter was still growing fine and she was healthy.
I would not worry about it, if you are talk to your doctor, but if your baby is growing that is all that matter's!

I didn't even look pregnant until I was six and a half months pregnant, I never got BIG, which shockingly I'm sad about. No one EVER believed me when I told them I only had a month left. They all said I only looked five months.

It all depends on your body, some people don't show at all. A woman I work with just stopped coming into work one day and everyone was like WTF, and our Manager said "Oh, she just had her baby" and we were all like WHAT!? The woman is like a size four, and NO one knew she was pregnant, though she did wear sweatshirts a lot.

Anyways, you're fine, and if you're that worried about it, ask the doctor to do a sonogram because you're worried, and it would help you calm down.

When i was prego with my first i went in for my last check up, i was about 38 or 39 weeks, i can't really remember; anyways, the ultrasound tech evidently didnt look at my chart and asked me if i was ready to find out the sex of my baby (assuming i was barely 20 wks!) I carried WAY LOW and i hid it quite well.....i didn't start to even look prego until i was about how far along you are now. If you're naturally a small person you're not going to blow up unless you eat crap. Just saying. With my second i looked prego maybe a month or two sooner than my first, but i think it's all about your pre-preo body structure and if the baby is sitting high or low.ALSO! I didn't even know i was prego with my first until i was about 12 wks bc of irregular periods and whatnot. if the baby is growing fine and you feel fine it's all okay.

Maternity clothes are not to cute to me so the fact that I could wear my clothes almost the whole time was great. Your baby will be just fine. You gotta think about the positive, like you dont suffer from the back pain, and dont have the silly waddle :]

I was pregnant with twins (my first pregnancy). I really didn't start wearing maternity jeans until about 4 months, and the rest of my maternity clothes I didn't buy until I was about 6 months along. I was all baby. The doctor said my weight was healthy, but instead of craving junk food, I wanted fruit all the time. So all the weight I was gaining was just from the baby. I got alot of comments from people that had single babies that they looked bigger than I did for how far along I was. I wouldn't worry about how much you are showing as long as your doctor is fine with your progress and weight gain. Everybody is different with their pregnancy, I would just brush everyones comments off and dont worry about it.

I pretty much looked just like I was starting to get fat until about week 30, granted I walk 7 miles a day so it kept me smaller, but I'm still small for being 35 weeks. Nothing to worry about, but if your still a little anxious, just ask your doctor or midwife.

We are all built different and so pregnancy is different as well. I was tiny when I was prego with my first and I didnt start showing it I was between 6 and 7 months. I looked like I put a basketball under my shirt, in my third trimester. So you will be fine. As long as the dr. says the baby is fine and he is not concerned for you then you will be ok.

I know the feeling I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my first but only look as though I am about 20 weeks. I am also wide hipped. The docs have told me not to worry about it as baby is growing well and I am gaining weight healthily. Everyone keeps saying that there is no way that I am as far along as I am.

Yeah really what I wanted to hear! Thanks for that, made me feel crap! As long as your doctor is happy that everything is ok don't worry about other peoples reactions to how big or small you are, I am sure you are just perfect! Good luck with everything and congrats!

I did not show until I was about 6 months... but I did not show show until I was around 7 or 8 months it is just how your body is my husbands mom told me how little I was when I was 5 and a half months pregnant. Don't let it scare you because I did and I gained 20 extra pounds. Alot of women are small with their frist baby and get bigger and bigger as they have more kids. The only time you should be alarmed is when the doctor says there is a problem. BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND ON YOUR NEW BABY.

I didn't start showing until i was almost 5 months pregnant. My doctor said that it depends a lot oh how the baby is sitting. a lot of women i knew that were pregnant at the same time i was were pregnant with girls, and for some reason showed a lot quicker than i did... i had a boy. and i'm assuming their babies sat forward, my son sat back towards my back... don't worry. i woke up one morning and suddenly had a tummy... SERIOUSLY... lol, one day i just looked pregnant, but for the longest time nobody knew, then all of a sudden it was apparent and i just got bigger and bigger and bigger. GREAT diet btw, i did the same thing and i only gained the minimum, so after I had my son I went back to my normal weight (thanks to breatfeeding) but when i became a stay at home mom, i put on the pounds... BOO! lol

i didn't really look pregnant till i was 6.5 months along, so if you are looking fat, hang in there you should be looking pregnant in the next couple months

I did the same thing.

It scared me so much I talked with my Ob/Gyn about it. His advice: "they should mind their own business."

Everyone carries differently. You may carry more in the back, or you may just be one of the lucky ones who will avoid stretch marks altogether!

My in-laws told me I was so big I must've been carrying twins. My family was saying that I was so lucky to be so small...?

One thing I learned (I'm 38 weeks with my first baby), listen to what they are saying, write it down, and then have a good laugh about it.

just wait, you will wake up one morning and boom you'll have a belly....
as long as you are gaining, you are just fine :-)
Enjoy it because it'll get uncomfortable with the belly also start lathering up with the coco butter on that belly because when you "Pop" so quick you are more prone to stretch marks because the skin stretches so quick rather than gradually.
Congrats on the baby :-)
